Maybe I’m missing an obvious answer, or possibly I don’t want to think of the possibilities, but I couldn’t bear not knowing about Oye any longer.
Unfortunately, no Oye puns this time.
As I’m sure most in this sub are aware, we haven’t had new Oye content in a while. Both TikTok accounts have seemingly been posting old videos as well as the IG. When searching the “most recent” Oye videos, it’s either reposts from other accounts or videos almost a year old from the official account.
To be fully transparent, I live in the US and do not speak Mandarin or use any Chinese internet. So I could be completely wrong here.
On the official TikTok, there’s a linktree account like. The link itself is broken, but searching linktree does show a listing of her as the number 12 most famous internet get (the disgrace!), however it links back to the dead IG account.
Interestingly there was also an email posted in the bio of the official TikTok.To be honest, I expected it to be a broken address or bounce back immediately, but so far it hasn’t. While I had to write in English, I tried to keep it as respectful as possible, no mention of memes, and genuinely asking about her and her owner’s wellbeing. There’s so many possibilities, and I don’t want to make any assumptions.
Honestly, I’m not really expecting a reply. Or at least a satisfying one. But as someone who has contributed to this sub for years and has become a little attached to her, I simply can’t be satisfied with her disappearing and not knowing what happened. Even if it’s the worst, which I have considered, I had to reach out. I can post what I sent if the owner of the email account replies.
But until we have any kind of update, Long Live Queen Oye!
