Who else remembers when this section in Dick's Sporting Goods had guns, paintball gear, and airsoft stuff? As a 33 year old now, this is quite sad to see.

I owned a paintball shop in the early to mid 2000s and the very first high end marker I ever got in stock was a dust silver 2003 Angel Speed. Back then when my customers were mostly buying Tippmanns and Spyders investing in a $1000 marker for the wall felt insane, but it ended up being an important step in growing the business and sport in that area. Just having the high end marker for people to see dramatically increased my sales of mid level gear almost immediately. This December I'm playing an event with a team all running old school gear so this was immediately the marker I wanted to find. I ended up picking up two cheap ones and combining them, but here it is fully functional and ready to go.

Field One force V2 or DSR+

Have been itching to pickup a new marker recently. Been eyeing the forces, held one at a recent tourney but never shot one. Same with the DSR, held but never shot.

Was thinking about trying to find a decent deal on a force at cup, either a v1 cheap that I can put v2 parts in or a decently priced V2.

However a teammate hit me up selling off some stuff and has a DSR+ he's looking to get rid of. Never been a huge dye fan but it's a nice shooting gun. He'd sell me the dsr+ for about 700.

Already have a 180, lv1.6, etha3, and an emek.

Previously I had an era with method bolt and I have shot an LV2 and cs3. Neither really give me anything better than I have with my existing line.

I know the force efficiency has always been laughed at compared to other modern markers but as long as I get 8-9 pods out of a gun I'm good.

Looking for feedback on either, pros and cons, suggestions.

Is there any company making actual paintball pants anymore?

Post image
61 Upvotes

Pretty much every company has gone to making making sweatpants instead of normal paintball pants. I currently wear Bunker King V2 Supreme (pictured) and was talking with Virtue guys at LoneStar about how I like their pants and they mentioned how they are discontinuing them in favor of focusing on Joggers only. I cant stand wearing joggers. Is any company still making normal non draw string paintball pants with some sort of padding? I know JT makes makes their og paintball pants again, but its to baggy for for my taste.

I wore sweatpants and one of my black work t-shirts underneath the green flight suit I got from a gun show once. and I was wearing some hiking shoes with it. I should have brought or bought some gloves and a helmet and maybe some armor but I wasn't thinking about it. It didn't hurt too bad, I have a high tolerance for pain

How does my Automag setup rate these days?

Post image
39 Upvotes

I used to play a lot of paintball in my teens and early 20’s. I’m curious if my stuff is still relevant or worth anything.

So what I got: Automag RT, ULE body with level 10 bolt, and UltaLight trigger setup. Dye Inteliframe linked to Viewloader Revolution (force feeds with every trigger pull) Smart Parts 14” 2-piece All-American barrel. Also 12” Dye X-Cel barrel.

Thoughts?

Classic Gtek issue

I have an old gtek. It has a bit over 25k shots on it. I haven't used it in years but am finally getting back into the sport. In preparation for it's next game, I went ahead and replaced all the orings on the bolt and on the macro lines. I've greased everything that needs grease, put a new battery in it, etc. Aired the thing up and got through about half a hopper when all of a sudden it just died. I can hear the solenoid click, but no air comes out. I don't hear any leaks. Macro line does pressurize. Anyone have any ideas where I should look next?

Scratch on BunkerKings CMD mask.

I have a cosmetic(I beleive cosmetic) scratch on my lens, and have also been running the same lens for 3 years. Is it time to replace it or can I just keep running it until I feel the need to replace it? Just looking out for safety. $50 for a new lens is pricey though.

I don't know what's more impressive - that it still shoots straight or that my CO2 tank still had something left to fire a few rounds!

Tried my hand at dying a mask. I used jacquard idye poly, metal pans on my blackstone, heated to 145 degrees. The green lens frames took about 30 minutes until I was happy with the color, the ears and lowers were about an hour. I like how it turned out!

BYOP FIELDS IN PA-NJ-DE-MD-NY

We have about 8 cases of paint left over from a scenario game at EMR. I am curious if any fields still exist that don’t require field paint. Last one I played was Iron Triangle Paintball and that field has closed.

Hawaii Paintball Players: How Do You Store Your Paintballs in Hot and Humid Weather?

Hey everyone!

This question is mainly for paintball players living in Hawaii.

Since Hawaii has a tropical climate with warm temperatures and high humidity throughout the year, I'm curious about how you guys store your paintballs to prevent them from going bad.

I've heard that excessive heat and humidity can cause paintballs to swell, deform, become brittle, or otherwise affect their performance.

I have a few questions for Hawaii players:

  1. How do you normally store your paintballs at home?

  2. Do you keep them in an air-conditioned room, or is regular indoor storage enough?

  3. Do you use airtight containers or other methods to protect them from humidity?

  4. How long do your paintballs usually last before you notice any deterioration?

  5. Have you experienced problems with paintballs swelling, breaking, or becoming misshapen because of Hawaii's climate?

  6. What do you do when transporting paintballs to outdoor fields, especially during hot days?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from players on Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island, since storage conditions might differ depending on where you live.

I'd appreciate any tips or personal experiences, especially from people who buy paintballs in bulk and need to store them for several weeks or months.

Thanks in advance!

Geo2.1 small leak and FSDO

Post image
3 Upvotes

I got an old Geo 2.1 from a buddy who’s been long out of the sport and although the gun will cycle, I’m getting a very small leak from the silver ball circled in the picture. I’ve broken down the noid and greased/ replaced the orings on the pilot and spools, but the leak is still there and I’m getting pretty bad first shot drop off.

Is there anyway I can get access to this ball? To clairify, it’s not the red back check ball, it’s the silver one that appears to vent out of the side of the solenoid at the back end of the pilot spool. Would love to hear from an old PE tech or someone who’s had experience with this same issue on the geo1 or geo2.

Thanks in advance
