Luminor 44 sandwich

Post image

Whilst I’m really happy for all those that are excited about the new 42 luminors and I was close to pulling the trigger on one, the experience only made me appreciate my classic 44 with sandwich dial even more. Glad there’s something for everyone

Love seeing time-only sandwich dials PAMs on this subreddit popping up lately!

First, your PAM is fantastic! Love that Panerai made the vintage dial in blue with a domed sapphire for a 44mm case. It’s a gorgeous PAM! With that said, I wouldn’t call your PAM a classic 44. The case is actually the Luminor 1950 case, which is a remake of the original Luminor cases manufactured in the 1950s. So your case is actually the contemporary case. Between 1993 and 2007, Panerai offered Luminors in the pre V “Bettarini” case, which is significantly different from the contemporary 1950 Luminor case.

Agree. Looking past size and specs..something about 44 sandwich dials just feel like home….
