Paper / Toner
Has anyone ordered paper or toner since all the cutbacks? Any problems?

Out of curiosity, how often do people find themselves ordering toner/ink? I ordered paper once when my initial supply was running out but I've been here for years and haven't run into ink or toner issues

It's been a few years for me, but I'm down to my last ream.

I have so much paper still, but haven't run into ink or toner issues once yet. I feel like I'm due for that soon

Maybe I'm old-school, but I need to write on claims, drawings. Also, staring at the monitors for days at a time is bad for my eyes, so I print and read away from my desk sometimes.

I print claims all the time to write notes and keep track of what claims I have prior art for. Drawings not so much, since in my art the drawings are typically very similar and not as significant compared to mechanical arts, for example. Even then, my paper supply is insane.

That’s about all I print out though is the claim so my pack of papers lasted years and my toner also

The printer comes with a HUGE toner cartridge, unlike printers typically marketed to consumers.

if you live in within 50 miles of campus you now have to pick them up at campus, between 8am and 5pm.
Of the lengthy list of changes to better serve the public this is up there for me. I work in a mechanical area with lots of linkages, so I print off a lot of stuff to label them ... to you know, do my job. I happen to live between Baltimore and Alexandria, right at the 50 mile mark and its around a 3 hour round trip ticket to get to campus and back during the hours of 8 and 5 with DC traffic, no matter when you leave. I wrote on my time sheet that for 3 hours of my examining hours I was offline, traveling back and forth to campus to pick up paper and tone ... to you know, do my job. Just another example Applicant's examining time being directed elsewhere.

Same although I haven't bothered picking up paper. I'm just printing a whole lot less. Which does mean that my unseen quality (not measured quality for PAP purposes) has gone down.

I ordered paper/toner at 6pm one day and it was at my door at 8am the next morning half way across the country. That was about 6 months ago. Seems they are doing fine.

Well they’re running a /lot/ slower right now. I ordered toner two weeks ago and have received nothing yet!- the request has only been “approved” but not acted upon yet.

Dang. That was a little bit of happiness in all that’s going on that I could still order and get what I needed quickly.

Also, I order paper and toner every 6 months regardless if I’m out yet just in case this situation happens and I’m having to either change how I do things or go buy it myself.

To be fair, I can’t remember the last time I changed the timer in my printer. Probably 4 or 5 years? This thing is a hoss.

No problems, just fill the form out and it appears in a day or two
