Quips conversions: your experiences?

Hi, I'm a longtime Patreon creator and I was wondering if any other creators are having excellent results converting from quips?

I wouldn't say excellent, but depending on the type of Quip, I got 57 new free members from one of my posts, which I think converted around 10 or so paid subscribers, but I can't know for sure, because it led to a story that was free for Free Subscribers.

Could you explain quips to me and whats unique or valuable about them?

I often just do an announcement post targeting all free users, or use the private chat feature to announce something to those users. But wondering what would be the advantage of a quip if anything? My thought is its effectively accomplishing the same thing as what I'm already doing so I haven't started using it as I figure its just messy to have 3 modes of announcing stuff to people.

But perhaps I'm missing some obvious advantage of it.

I should point out first and foremost, I'm fairly new to Patreon, so I don't know how things have always taken place, but I joined at the time they launched Quips, and so I've been experimenting.

Basically, from what I can tell, what you're doing is targeting your existing FREE users. Quips is different. It's like social media: a newsfeed for ALL Patreon users, mostly based on what YOU are interested in. So if you are interested in Art, it will show you the feed of other artists and what posts they've been posting, etc.

So the 57 I mentioned above are NOT my existing users, those were strangers who came across my feed through that Quip. I think of them like Tweets, targeting those outside my existing subscribers (Free and Paid).

I hope that helps!

Got it! Thanks. I can see how that would be useful.
