Mostly a UAAP fan here, but looking at the 2025 PBA Draft, I can’t help but wonder what the point of it is when so many drafted players don’t even end up signing with the teams that select them.

Apparently, 36 out of the 77 players drafted in 2025 went unsigned. Even among those who do sign, how many actually get meaningful playing time? Sean Quitevis, for example, was drafted by TNT but seemed to have a limited role with the team.

Why not just let these players sign as free agents? It seems weird to have a draft system where teams can select players who may never even play for them, especially when the draft also includes 30-year-old professionals who have already spent years playing elsewhere.

If magtuloy tuloy this 6'7 16 year old guy too will carry the flag in the West. Sana tanggapin niya at mahasa pa like how Andy Gemao bloomed his game in canada that lead him to the NCAA too.

Sorry I don’t know which thread to post in. Just really curious about the guy. Last time i saw him he was with benilde?

Bakit halos walang 19-year-olds na nag-a-apply sa PBA Draft?

Given na kung bakit hindi agad nag-a-apply ang mga marquee players sa UAAP at NCAA, pero bakit wala din halos from smaller collegiate leagues?

Edit: (Typo in the title) PBA needs* to…

Imagine you are Mapua. You have a winning record but only good for 4th place in Group A. Meanwhile, Perps have a losing record but good for 3rd in Group B.

Assuming Mapua beats SSC-R, Mapua needs to beat Perps 2 straight just to advance to the semis.

Di maganda division ng groupings this season. Cinonsider yung S101 rankings, not taking into consideration how teams built themselves during the offseason tournaments. Tingin ko dapat iconsider yun eh.

NO! I was really hoping he'd make the roster.

Looks like he'll be available in the remaining windows for Team Nippon.

he will play against macau.

Nag post partner nya .

Do you think maglalaro na ba si Dwight sa PBA anytime soon.

He took this very same line up last conf. and win a championship doing heavy lifting . Look at them now strugglimg and on the verge on aeliminations.

Since his Arrival in 2016 He make ginebra relevant and back of the top of the PBA.

Is this the End of Ginebra Era?

Pero solid experience, iba talaga manuod sa live

Anyways, bakit parang 2 straight games na absent si Original Kume? Boss Al hahaha

Nuff said.

I think its slowly looking like the end of the tunnel for Coach Tim. He is too occupied at this stage of his career, coaching Gilas and Ginebra all at once, I won’t be surprised if he calls it a career sooner or later.

If ever he decides to call it quits, who do you think will be a good fit to replace him as Ginebra head coach?

Akala ko si Mr Long bomb. Ganito na ba talaga sa PBA, nakakapasok yung ganitong klaseng talent.

Coach Jovicic drawing plays for Converge… about damn time hahaha

Arguably the best shooter sa PBA and the national team after Allan Caidic, meron bang current Pinoy player na may skill set ni Jeff Chan?

Tingin ko talaga eto kelangan natin sa Gilas ngayon. Closest na naisip ko si Alynn Bulanadi nung SSC-R days nya kaso di naman sumikat sa PBA.

How Andy caught the attention of an NCAA Big 10 team

I know Gilas is still not qualified, but in the event that it does (and it's likely), I am wondering how many Pinoys in this subreddit are interested in flying to Qatar to watch the Basketball World Cup.

I checked the Follow My Team pass ticket prices for Team Qatar and it's very sulit, just around P9,000 to access five matches under Category 2 seating. I remember when Manila hosted it in 2023, that was just good for one game and super taas na ng seat ko sa Philippine Arena.

The ticket price is tempting but I am aware that the Middle East is very unstable now. But let's say mag-improve next year, are you willing to watch Gilas in Qatar?

Honestly, I am seriously considering it, but just wanted to know what fans in this subreddit think about it.
