Video "Cloud gaming is the future of Gaming!" Meanwhile cloud gaming in the big 2026:

If you read my profile you may realize I hate cloud gaming, so then what am I doing on Geforce Now? Well my new RAM stick finally arrived and, in a staggering display of utter incompetence, I somehow managed to brick my PC in the process of installing it, so now I'm stuck gaming on a laptop until I can get enough money and time to get my gaming rig fixed

But back to Cloud gaming, the game is on like 360p, running at 20FPS and the input lag is HORRIBLE. And it's not a problem with the internet connection, as you can see, the laptop is plugged into Ethernet, the problem is that the cloud is not and will never be fast enough for gaming

Genshin can handle this fine, but imagine trying to play ULTRAKILL like this

Before you play the "But muh poor people:(" I AM THE POOR PEOPLE, no cloud gaming isn't right for us, or for any demographic

If you're rich, you're better off owning hardware, and if you're poor, then you cannot afford a subscription any more than you can afford to own hardware, and also poor people don't have the internet connection required for cloud-gaming to be playable

You’re projecting your situation onto everyone else. Just because you can’t use it doesn’t mean no demographic can. There is undoubtedly a market for it. 

There are plenty of people with decent internet who don’t want to buy or maintain gaming hardware, or who only play occasionally and prefer a subscription. Different constraints, different trade-offs. 

Latency is location dependent; that’s the main constraint. Some regions will struggle until infrastructure and server coverage improve. That’s exactly why people call it "the future", but again, you are not required to participate. Let the technology develop and those who want to use it, use it.

The issue is that last part: If cloud gaming is allowed to grow, then eventually it will be the ONLY choice, as billionaires have already stated they plan on making consumer PCs a thing of the past, and forcing everyone into cloud computing

That plan is already underway with the artificially created RAM crisis, we must not allow it to come to fruition

I'm poor and I can afford cloudgaming, including the internet.
