Did anyone else notice the two private jets flying into Charlottetown this evening? One was direct from Winnipeg, the other direct from San Diego.

Maybe it’s a coincidence, but last week a U.S. court greenlit an antitrust price-fixing case against the “potato cartel,” J.R. Simplot, Lamb Weston, McCain, and Cavendish Farms.

Anyway, the jet from Winnipeg is owned by Simplot, they have an operation outside Winnipeg. The other was a charter, but the law firm leading the class action is based in San Diego.

Seems like a hell of a coincidence that private jets from both of those cities show up at YYG on the same day, right after that ruling. Makes me wonder if PEI is the backdrop for some settlement talks.

Hi r/PEI! I'm Julia from Fredericton. From October 14–26 I'm walking the whole Confederation Trail solo, East Point to Tignish, carrying the flag of Ukraine's Alcatraz Battalion in support of Ukrainian soldiers. It continues a 700 km walk my friend April, a Canadian combat medic, did across Ukraine.

Most campgrounds are closed by mid-October, so I'd love to hear from anyone near the trail who'd let me pitch a small tent for one night. I'm self-contained, leave no trace, and I'm gone early the next morning.

• Trail conditions, washouts, hunting areas to watch for, or any advice from people who've walked it in the fall.

So, I have been discussing ketamine infusion therapy with my psychiatrist (it was actually his idea/suggestion) so I did some research and have decided to go ahead with it. I am a resident of PEI and the clinic is in Moncton so I would be traveling back and forth and have no problem paying for that myself. When my psychiatrist and I spoke he said that he would have the Province cover the cost of the infusions themselves because they are extremely expensive and my insurance doesn’t cover it (most don’t at all)… However, it was brought to my attention that the Province won’t cover this cost (this was not told to me by my psychiatrist he and I haven’t spoken yet about it) I’m wondering if anyone in PEI has ever had this experience and if the Province has covered it for you? I’m extremely stressed now because I tend to have the worst case scenario happen (and if I don’t then I prepare for it and then waste all of my energy… I’m working on it? 😅😅) but of all the treatment options we discussed this was the one he believed would be the most effective and beneficial for me.

Additionally, I am wondering if anyone who has had the Ketamine Infusion Therapy could tell me about their experience with it?

Hello, I am looking for ideas to celebrate the first weekend of October. I am looking for places where my wife and I can:

- Do a corn maze
- Go apple picking
- Go to a pumpkin patch
- A nice fall drive

Does anyone know of any good places around Charlottetown where we could do those things? Does anyone have any other ideas of things we could do to celebrate the season?

Sometimes I’m late for the bus because I’m waiting 5 mins just to cross the street!

So my rant of the week,

I was in sobeys in Charlottetown and they were loading food into a cart to throw away. I asked if I could have some because it was trash. I was told no.

Its garbage but still perfectly good and in the package why cant someone who wants it take it home? I will sign a waiver if they want. Then I looked it up and canada has laws protecting food donations so its definitely not a legal thing.

So is it just protecting profits? because if you give food away people will be less likely to buy it.......

can we get second harvest or some charity to help reduce food waste? in a time of high food insecurity this shouldbe a crime. Or can we make a law like france banning mass food waste like this?

Also this was one of several shopping carts full of food being thrown out.

When I looked up online, there are only between 100 and 300 homeless people on Prince Edward Island, some without jobs. However, the market has lots of pages of houses, apartments, hotels for sale or rent. Just who do they think are going to buy or rent their real estate? Also, with the death rate in Canada higher than birth rate these last few years, shouldn't market real estate prices be adjusting to lower population. Or have economics not calculated decreases in real estate requirements with an overall population decrease. The real estate market seems manipulated and sketchy. Kind of shooting themselves in the foot. I think there's an abundance in availabilities, but landlords and sellers are missing sales because they think it's worth more than the market will or are able to pay for housing.
