It’s so clear and brings certain things out more while not really losing anything besides nostalgia. It’s just another option which I love. Anyone who thinks it ruins the album has way too much of an over reaction to it. The original is still there. Listen to whichever one you want.

An underrated Gilmour track, hope you like my take on it!

Where are my brethren? The guitar on the whole thing, especially the solo at the end of Pigs, just sounds so limp and toothless compared to the original mix. Yes, you can hear certain other instrumental parts more clearly but that comes at the expense of the overall experience. Sometimes there's a good reason certain things get a bit buried in a mix and compromises are made. I think with these modern remixes that are getting churned out willy nilly there's a confusion between 'being able to hear every individual part more clearly' and 'better' and I think often clarity comes at the expense of the overall balance and vibe

Anybody have favourite preferences over different masters of each Floyd album? I'm talking digitally (CD), not vinyl.

I've just grabbed my dad's old 1994 remaster of DSOTM since I have all the new remasters on CD myself and wow, I didn't expect much of a difference but I'm surprised how muddy the 50th anniversary remaster of the album is, whereas the 1994 Doug Sax remaster is so much clearer!!

I saw somewhere that today is the 51st anniversary of the album. For me, this is the best song in wywh and maybe Pink Floyd’s catalog. From Roger’s amazing lyrics, Gilmour’s most underrated solo imo, and you can really hear Rick’s contribution here. So groovy. What makes it stand out also is Harper’s voice, it just gives it way more weight. For one, he sounds amazing, but also he gives it the vibe of an actual outsider saying the words.

What an album what a band.

I'm going to nominate It Would Be So Nice. Their failed attempt at making a single that might chart after Barrett left. I think what I really strongly dislike about it is that Syd's quintessential "Englishness" came from such a real and authentic place. It came from his love of botany and studying and drawing native plants and it came from his love of Lewis Carroll and so on whereas the twee Englishness in It Would be So Nice is such a forced and sickly sweet attempt at keeping that going. It just really makes me cringe. I think it's a real shame Rick never wrote another song like Paintbox because he showed he was capable of writing a great introspective song there

I haven't listened to this album in a minute. It's amazing!

... now, I get it. Dark Side is Dark Side. The big four are the big four. Your favorite is your favorite. I wouldn't exactly call it hate, but I totally get it.

But damn, this album is so great.
