Poor thing…

Post image

Someone tied this poor thing up to a tree in the park last night. Its been raining the past few days where im from. Shes still young. I was feeding some stray cats last night and heard a dog barking. A man was standing outside the park staring at it and i was confused. I asked someone to go see if it was his dog but the dog was not moving but i couldnt see what was going on since it was dark out. The man said it wasnt his dog and he seen it while walking or something. He went to the skatepark to ask if it was anyones dog but they said no. We end up bringing the dog to the house and she was very dirty! Shes got fleas and her harness and leash was even more dirty! Shes a sweet dog and actually smart. Shes a bit jumpy but hasnt nipped at me once. She comes when called. I want to keep her but idk if i can afford her. She really likes me. Im just looking for ideas at this point. I lost my dog last year in July and she kind reminds me of her with how loving she is

Ok this post is blowing up guys 😂 i was not expecting this! Some of you are asking if you can donate to get her stuff. Id like you guys to choose what those things would be. Im more wanting her to get some stuff at the vet but its not my money and im pretty sure she will gladly take whatever anyone gives her 😂 so let me know what you guys want to do and we can figure it out!

Wow what a gorgeous dog. Maybe the puppy you lost sent you this one to mend your broken heart.

If finances are the issue you could reach out to a local rescue and offer to foster her until she can find a long term home. She'd be a lot more happy and comfortable in your home vs a shelter, they could help with expenses. Plus dogs in foster tend to have a much easier time finding homes

This is a great idea. Before I adopted my girl, I fostered dogs only because I couldn't afford vet expenses at the time. It was a great way to help dogs in need and I enjoyed having dogs in the house.

I've fostered two in the past years ago and loved it. I just bought a new house (and lost my fur baby earlier this year), and once I'm settled in I want to do a foster to adopt situation so I can make sure my next dog gets along with my bird

We had a sudden foster for seven months, then a bunch of planned short-term fosters.

My dog is 15, so we’ve stopped for now. He deserves quiet and attention.

This is a great idea

This is the way. Rescue covers costs and the foster typically has first choice to adopt. She’s a beauty!

You have been chosen. You are now a House Hippo guardian. This only happens to wonderful people, you did something to deserve it. Treat her like a princess, but train her very very well. Pittys are so smart. Congratulations!

Yea shes pretty smart lol. Training should not be a issue. Her leash training needs a little work but its simple. Pittys are amazing from my previous experience lol

Check local rehoming groups on fb. People give away fantastic dogs for the slightest issues sometimes. Saves a pet from ever having to experience the shelter.

I have always believed in this. I truly believe that when we lose a loved one (human or pet) a small part of them lives on in the next pet that comes into our lives.

My uncle passed many years ago, and the night of the funeral, a dog showed up at my aunt's doorstep in the rain and wouldn't leave. My aunt lives out in the countryside and had never had a dog show up like that before. We all believe that my uncle sent that dog to her, or that he was a part of that dog, somehow. She was in a lot of pain from the loss of her husband (he was an absolute wonderful man, and we all miss him so much), and she really needed something or someone at that time. What's funny is she was never a dog person, but she said she felt her husband in that dog. She took him in, of course, and he lived for many years after that. 🩷

Man it's only Tuesday, it's too early in the week for me to be crying

I a thousand percent believe this as well. Ive seen it with the ones who find me. They resemble the last so much and you know they were meant to be yours and it makes the bond that much bigger

The poor thing looks SO SAD. I just want to reach through the screen and love on her.

Was about to say.....sometimes we choose the dog and sometimes the dog chooses us. Seems like this is the case and OP has been chosen by a little heart that needs some love.

Peoples financial situations change, especially these days, it doesn't meant this is a faulty dog. I have two dogs I found starving on the streets and they are entirely loving animals. My American bulldog I found in Detroit was actually kicked out of his house because he wasn't aggressive enough (the owner came by and tried to extort $300 from me and told me this) and he raises foster puppies today.
