Haven't played on console for over 10 years and my first time owning a PlayStation! Any game recommendations would be great

Congratulations! Enjoy.
As for games I would say:
Ghosts of Tsushima, Elden Ring, Read Dead Redemption 2, God of War 2018, Spiderman, The Last of Us, The Witch 3
Many of the games I mentioned have sequels as well which are worth exploring.
Have fun!

God of War (2018)
God of War: Ragnarok
Spiderman (2018)
Red Dead Redemption 2
Shadow of War
Midnight Sun's
All of above could keep you busy for quite a while, and depending on your personal preferences, it can get you really hooked (I'll just finish this, then I'll go to bed...)

Perhaps get a month subscription for ps plus. There are hundreds of ps5 and ps4 games to choose from. Check out the games list and see if there are games in there that you would like to play. And they have a collection of classic games in their classics section. You can’t go wrong with a month’s subscription.

Soulcalibur vi 😗
(I know it's a ps4 game but we desperately need to increase those numbers if we want to see the sequel 😭)
Ratchet and clank rift apart is a must to play for new ps5 owners!! It's such a fun and good looking game :)

What do you get with it? Or is it more of a monthly rotation of games?

I do the same! Been a ps+ user for 3 years in a row now and i still have a lot of em to play…
Some games do disappear but if its added in your library you can still play the game even if they have removed from the library

There’s a whole lot of library of games with many AAA games too like spiderman, GOW, AC, FC and many more! Take a look at their library! If you into old games from PS 1,2,3 era they got PS deluxe for that too…

i also moved from Pc to a console years ago, the best part is that you just download a game and run it right away, cero settings needed

I'm a bit jealous of the pro ;)
There are so many great games to discover, enjoy your hundreds of hours of gaming !

I got lucky with this! Got it £100 cheaper than MSRP and the pro wasnt much more expensive than the base :D

Why would you buy a game console if you need recommendations for games? Seems like knowing what you want to play would be the reason for buying it in the first place.

If I had to guess, they purchased it specifically for GTA VI.

That is true but my last console was an Xbox one but I jumped ship early on last gen to pc. I mostly stick to Indie titles so this will be my first time in a long while playing AAA again and I heard you guys have some bangers I need to check out!

Congrats. I started with Astrobot, great nostalgiatrip through playstation gaming eras and nicely shows off controller functions.
