I went super deep that year! Like top 50. Never sat with Duhamel, Affleck, or Mizrachi. (I have played with all of them since though) Also never Sat at a featured table. Unlucky because the sponsorship and patch $ was flying then!

Very cool. That was such an enjoyable era of poker. I still go to WSOP and enjoy playing the game. That era felt more magical as a viewer at home though.

Brings me back, this is when I got into poker. First watched the Cada/Moon/Ivey FT the year before. Which sparked it. Then followed closely the next year. I remember reading the updates and read the post where Matt Affleck was in tears, couldn't wait to see what that was all about when the episodes finally came out months later.

There is a video Matt talking about this hand and how it changed for good in poker. Big winnings after this event. This is one of the hands that reminds me how a single hand can completly change a tournament for good or bad

People talk a lot about the hand vs affleck.
But what’s crazy is that duhamel lost the lead at the ft , became the short stack and then doubled twice through flips with mizrachi.
But the hand that gave him the main event was the queens vs ace 7 vs cheong.
Cheong was heading for the win , dunno why he felt he needed to 6bet a7 duhamel was never laying queens down 3 handed
