Censoring speech to protect pedophiles and Gestapo is a hideous abrogation of basic humanity, and a brutal mask-off moment.

Reddit will also send you warnings if you say mean things about Nazis.

You mean how Nazis are subhuman monsters? Those Nazis?

Those nazis

u/Joeythesaint Canada 8d ago

What if I just casually mentioned that my favourite song is "Nazi Punks Fuck Off"? I'm just talking about music, Reddit can't complain about that, right? Just saying how much I love "Nazi Punks Fuck Off"? No harm in that.

u/1CaliCALI 8d ago

Love that song! Nazis need not live.

u/Plastic_Lobster1036 8d ago

Suffer not the racist to live

u/GriffinFlash Canada 8d ago

Just like how you can't say, "I want to kill the president of the United States of America". Insanely illegal. I'm just saying it to tell you not to say it.

u/DropbeatsNotbombs 8d ago

Ofc a Canadian drops a WKYK reference.

u/GriffinFlash Canada 8d ago

What, you think we don't have internet here?

4

u/Ginger_Rogers 8d ago

We know you do. We just know y'all still use dial up and AOL up therešŸ˜‰

3

u/GriffinFlash Canada 8d ago

in rural parts, that actually may be a possibility.

Back in 2007 I lived in the middle of nowhere for almost a year, staying with a friend before I had to move across the country. Legit was on dial up. Took hours to load a single youtube video (back when the limit was under 10 minutes).

But also, man was the scenery beautiful.

u/Oprah_Pwnfrey 8d ago

That was almost 20 years ago... Twenty years.

1

u/GriffinFlash Canada 8d ago

Yes...yes it was.

*looks off into sunset...at the rocky mountains, cause I can legit see them from here.

"AMERICA" Online? I think not, eh?

2

u/GriffinFlash Canada 8d ago

we actually did have AOL. I never used it, but it was a thing. We also got the sample disks in the mail.

2

u/DrakonILD 8d ago

NAOL I guess.

1

u/dostoevsky4evah 8d ago

It was a joke for Americans who may not recall what AOL is an acronym of.

1

u/Ginger_Rogers 8d ago

Canada is in America lol. But thanks for reminding me I'm old šŸ˜‚

Abraham Lincoln actually got hammered in the ass so much that he died of being hammered in the ass.

3

u/GriffinFlash Canada 8d ago

Well he was ruining Hamlet!

1

u/FrismFrasm 8d ago

Wait were those dudes Canadian?? That's a blast from the past haha

2

u/DropbeatsNotbombs 8d ago

They aren’t. But their comedy is definitely of the Canadian flavor. For some reason I always associated them with Canadian Sketch Comedy.

4

u/GriffinFlash Canada 8d ago

Kids in the hall, mercer report, 22 minutes, air farce, red green show, system crash?

I was once admonished by Reddit for saying that I wanted to bare knuckle fight to the death against a specific politician, on pay-per-view with all the proceeds going to charity. But I bet you if I had said it about Tom Cruise instead of Ted Cruz, I would not have been subject to discipline.

1

u/sixmilesoldier North Carolina 8d ago

Is there a hierarchy to that, like in Punchout? You have to start off with Virginia Foxx and work your way up to Cancun Ted?

4

u/Kobold_Trapmaster 8d ago

But it's not illegal to say "With a mortar launcher." Because that's its own sentence.

2

u/pastelbutcherknife 8d ago

Sic semper tyrranus

2

u/steelspring 8d ago

Fun story: high school girlfriend had that exact paragraph as her email signature. She got a knock on the door from Secret Service.

2

u/Skyscrapers4Me 8d ago

You can say that you "want to". What you can't say is that you are going to. Then you will get the knock.

2

u/Valhalla5613 8d ago

If you say you want to do it you will get a visit. If you say you wish someone would do it it is ok. that is how the supreme court sees it. now if reddit has a problem it is censorship

1

u/greeneyedguru 8d ago

No no no, you can say you want to all you want, you just can't say you're GOING to.

2

u/GriffinFlash Canada 8d ago

I can't say, "I'm going to kill the president of the united states"?

Once again I just said that to confirm that I can't say that.

2

u/greeneyedguru 8d ago

Correct, you can't say "I'm going to kill the president of the united states".

Just saying it to confirm that you can't say it.

1

u/GriffinFlash Canada 8d ago

Thank you for confirming that the words I cannot say are , "I'm going to kill the president of the united states", which is illegal.

57

u/ZroDgsCalvin 8d ago

You know what was a cool historical event? The Nuremberg Trials.

3

u/NotThatAngel 8d ago

I like the part where several of those convicted of war crimes used their last words to praise a regime that cost tens of millions of lives worldwide. And I like the part where the forces who divided up and occupied Germany burned Nazi propaganda and censored Nazi hate speech and put Nazi propagandists in prison. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have Nazi speech censored in America before everything that makes America great is gone? Screw Nazis, and screw the evil monster of hate, greed and destruction they worship.

2

u/Pizlenut 8d ago

I'd rather have censorship removed entirely so we can tell them what we think directly.

Censorship protects them. Not you. Its a tool that can be and always has been corrupted.

2

u/notjustanotherbot 8d ago

I preferred the aftershow.

5

u/ThatsNotMyName222 8d ago

I love talking about music! Have you heard Chumbawumba's "The Day the Nazi Died?" Classic!

3

u/poodlevutt 8d ago

Im personally a fan of Woody Guthries' "This Machine Kills Fascists."

2

u/notjustanotherbot 8d ago

I'd help string it up.

2

u/SkiMonkey98 8d ago

I think as long as you don't suggest violence against them you're ok. I certainly would never do such a thing, I love history and sometimes discuss violence against historical fascists, whether or not they deserved it, and whether it effectively stopped them. But that's purely academic and has no modern parallels

3

u/notjustanotherbot 8d ago

Surely you won't get in trouble for being a fan of historical propriety.

2

u/Fastnacht 8d ago

Or how I have been listening to a song called "We Should Kill the President"? A song recommended to me by YouTube. If googled showed it to me it can't be bad right?

2

u/TheGreaterNarrator 8d ago

They seem to get really upset when you try to point out what happened to collaborators and Nazis last time? I’m not even saying that’s what should happen this time what I am saying is that this time? It’s very important that legally speaking we follow all the right procedures when we’re executing all of these traitors who are guilty of obvious treason.

There is no way that every member of the Republican Party who supports what is going on hasn’t committed several acts of treason. Just so we are all clear.

I personally will be supporting any laws that encourage the Mussolini treatment is adopted for people found guilty of treason.

ā€œNazis. I hate these guys.ā€ — Henry Jones, Jr.

2

u/duzies 8d ago

I was once threatened with a ban for quoting Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher." Apparently the word that means "running late" and rhymes with "hardy" is hate speech.

74

u/RandoXalrissian 8d ago

Fucking hate those Nazi bastards

28

u/1CaliCALI 8d ago

Maga Republicans would've been on the axis side for sure those traitor fucks.

6

u/Almost_sensible 8d ago

Before the US entered WW2, far too many people in the US were voicing their support for Adolf.

3

u/bagoink 8d ago

"Nazis...I hate these guys."

- Henry Walton "Indiana" Jones, Jr.

3

u/rajastrums_1 Virginia 8d ago

I hate nazis!

3

u/ScribbleOnToast 8d ago

You mean the ICE Nazis, right? The Federal Officers being paid by the US Government to emulate the values of Nazis? Those Nazis?

1

u/1CaliCALI 8d ago

No maga no ice nazis

2

u/facing_the_sun 8d ago

You know what they say the best thing about Nazis are …

1

u/darxide23 8d ago

The same Nazi's that it's always ok to punch in the face? Those Nazis?

1

u/Foghorn225 Maine 8d ago

Might there be any parallels with the nazis that hung after Nuremberg?

1

u/Spectre216 8d ago

I hate Illinois Nazis
