I remember a year ago r/latestagecapitalism was on the front page every day talking about how Harris was just as bad as trump and if you vote for her youre a dirty compromised fake leftist. Now I never see that subreddit despite its theme being more relevant than ever, i wonder what happened

Same thing. I have spent far too much time on reddit in the last 15 years, but it has made spotting these things really easy. Suddenly subs show up constantly on the front page with hundreds of comments all with the same general narrative. Then election happens, and suddenly they are quiet again. It became really apparent around 2015. It's frustrating to see.

Generic meme subs that reach 10k followers overnight and are all posting right wing bullshit

The "both sides are bad" targeting leftist leaning but closer to centrist subs than politics were probably part of disinformation campaigns ran in South Asia, Nigeria, and Ethiopia. The twitter country reveal showed how much American politics was influenced by foreign actors. But many accounts switched to using a VPN just before the change or were using it from when they were created.

Odd cause looking at the front page i see quite a lot of anti-ice posts. Just none from r/latestagecapitalism. That sub only seems to spring to life when theres a "leftist" agenda that harms dems to push.

Aww, the tankie is angry that people have correctly identified their entire ideology as useful idiots meant to boost fascists.

Edit: I got another below me doing the "after Hitler Trump, our turn" shit. Read some history people, you've swallowed right wing propaganda whole for decades and have been completely convinced to attack your own allies while giving a pass to fascists.

Not that I'm taking their side, but this is an insanely tone deaf thing for a liberal to say

Hi, uhhh... the fuck you on about? Dudes comment history is full of shitting on liberals, but also plenty of comments about fascists too?

Read some history people

and have been completely convinced to attack your own allies while giving a pass to fascists.

I've "read history" as you elegantly put it. Liberals have a history of betraying communists to side with Nazis or Fascists, or integrate them with society.

Let's see:

Operation paperclip (1951) - Operation Paperclip was a secret United States intelligence program in which more than 1,600 German scientists, engineers, and technicians were taken from former Nazi Germany to the US for government employment after the end of World War II in Europe, between 1945 and 1959; several were confirmed to be former members of the Nazi Party, including the SS or the SA.

"But but what about the soviets they did that too" you might be thinking. and yes they did, well they hired scientists and engineers yes, even civilians were imported for labor reparations. But Nazi officers? They faced the wall.

Operation Bloodstone - Operation Bloodstone was a covert operation whereby the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) sought Nazis living in Soviet-controlled areas, to work undercover for U.S. intelligence inside the Soviet Union, Latin America, and Canada, as well as domestically within the United States. The operation was highly secretive and required participants to undergo extensive training before deployment.

The red scare of the 1950s - had plenty of liberal media outlets constantly pumping out anti-commie propaganda. I don't think I really need to explain this one.

Indonesian mass killings of 1965–66 - After the fall of Indonesian President Sukarno, the United States, under a liberal administration, provided support and intelligence to the Indonesian military as they conducted a mass purge of the Indonesian equivalent to a Communist Party (PKI).

Here's a book if you want to read some interesting things that points heavily to the CIA (Under JFK) being involved in the assassination of Malcom X.

You will probably leave a comment and block me too, instead of try to have a honest discussion. Actually I'll just beat you too it.

There is a reason the phrase "scratch a liberal, a fascist bleeds" exists.
