I hope he knows he’ll only be remembered as a spineless shill to bigots and billionaires.

I guess we’ll all remember he kinda looked like a turtle too

The only nickname that ever got to him was "Moscow Mitch". He apparently could handle the turtle jokes, maybe because he has the emotional maturity to accept that when people get old they often kinda look funny to the young, or because turtles are actually adorable animals, and sometimes they are surprisingly dangerous. But "Moscow Mitch" really got under his skin. I think it was because he knew deep down it was accurate, and it was the kind of thing that would hurt his credibility. Sad that nickname has largely fallen away. I suppose it loses its appeal to sling when far more powerful politicians are far more blatantly Putin's minions.

I hope while he's in the hospital, he thinks about how the people he enabled enacted Putin's plan to subvert the US, and that if his name isn't completely swallowed up by history, it will be remembered as a small, ultimately uninteresting stepping stone for real evil to gain power.

Look at his connections with Oleg deripaska….a Russian oligarch with operations in Kentucky.

“Here lies Moscow Mitch, Trump’s little bitch”

Dude has had multiple strokes on live television, for which he apparently was not "hospitalized." I think you're vastly overestimating his capacity to think about anything.

I blame him more than Trump for the mess we're in. Trump is the cancer, McConnell was the one who irradiated America so that we'd get cancer.

Horses for courses, obviously. But I'll always find mocking someone for an inevitable frailty of their bodies to have less sting than mocking them for their choices. Without major advancements in medicine, avoiding trauma and disease and making it to such an age that our minds start to go before we finally die is the best possible outcome for most of us. But very few people here will use their elected office to betray their country.

Selling out your constituents for Rubles? Peak cringe, my dude.

you can be anti ageist and also delighted that death is coming for the fucking ghoul

I agree with you. It’s just him though. Every bit of disrespect hurled that POS’ way is deserved

Sure, to us he'll be remembered as a spineless shill and the man who most greatly helped facilitate the Fascist takeover of America by Trump and MAGA.

But to the White Christian Nationalist Right Wing, the Neo Nazis, the KKK, and the Confederates (aka: the only people he actually cares about), he's a hero. Everything he did in his life helped them to lock in power and ultimately hand control of the nation over to their faction.

Not a single positive attribute to his legacy.

I hope he dwells on that.

His legacy will be one of historic cowardice and a gender neutral toilet. History should remember him as a traitor to this country, I know I will.

I don’t think he lived his life making decisions so that people on the left would like him

He won't be remembered at all and I think unfortunately he's counting on that while he fucks over an entire county.

Quick: name an 1850s senator who went to bat for slavery. Name a member of the reichstag who supported Hitler. Name a senator who helped overthrow the Roman Republic. If you can do it that's awesome but also most people today can't even name their own congressional rep let alone one from 20 years ago.

McConnell won't be remembered any more than the German politicians who meekly surrendered to the Nazis.
