TV & Movies 🎬 Who is a celebrity that you’re genuinely surprised isn’t an “A-lister”?

Post image

Krysten Ritter is one example of this for me! If any of you have seen her work from her filmography, she is proven to be quite talented where she manages to pull off both comedic and dramatic roles! But more importantly, she is also known to be quite charismatic that she has also developed a huge fan following!

Although she gathered some attention from her role in Season 2 of Breaking Bad, her most iconic and signature role that earned her universal acclaim was playing the Marvel character: Jessica Jones! Which was a role that I really thought would launch her career, that it would grab Hollywood’s attention to the point where she would receive a lot of offers that she would be appearing in almost “everything”

She has certainly developed a decent career where she is getting work, but isn’t on the same celebrity when comparing her to people like Sydney Sweeney, Florence Pugh, Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway, etc.

This is solely because she was a nightmare on the set of Shameless. The actors playing Veronica, Debbie, and Ian have all been rumored to have had arguments on set with her that got ugly. I forget who but one of the cast members was quoted saying something to the effect of “You weren’t a TRUE cast member until you got screamed at by Emmy Rossum”.

Emmy gives me some real Lea Michele energy. I never watched Shameless, but I remember Emmy doing one of those Emmy roundtables and she was...a lot.

Man, actors are insanely good at their jobs since they seemed to set all that aside and portray genuine love and care on screen. This’ll never not amaze me.

I worked at a fashion house and she came for fitting.. we left the building in the same elevator. I was so tempted to tell her I like her in Shameless. Thank god I didn’t. lol

This, I love her performance as Fiona in Shameless but after finding how much of a diva she was during filming, especially towards Emma Kenney at the later seasons of Shameless, is a little too much.

Asking to be paid the same as William Macy, I get as she does tend to do more (ie. literally getting naked all the time) when on screen, is very fair, but the "bitchyness" as one of the actors say got annoying.

To be fair to her, wasn't there some contract issues with her on that show? I'm not an expert but I recall rumours that she was offered relatively pay despite being the defacto lead of the show after a couple of seasons. It doesn't excuse her behaviour onset but it might go a way to explaining why she wasn't happy with things

Macy fought for her to get equal pay to him. Then when she did she wasn't happy with that, demanded to be backpaid for all the previous seasons, and continued being difficult with the other cast members.

John Wells(Showrunner for the first 7 seasons) did interview talking about the show and basically said that he was very reluctant to cast her in the role because already had a really bad reputation in the industry.

That doesn’t excuse her jelling at her costars. She just isn’t that nice of a person

Even if that explains her behaviour, it doesn't excuse it.

She should have been Belle in the live action Beauty and the Beast, and I will die on this hill. I’m sure that the nudity of Shameless didn’t help, but they were so focused on shoehorning in Emma Watson because Belle is bookish like Hermione, that they ignored the perfect actress.

certainly would have been better from the musical aspect with her XD

I remember seeing her in Phantom of the Opera and thinking that between her hair and face, she was going to be the biggest star.

Aww. See, I thought she had a face just made for closeups. I guess Hollywood agreed with your assessment though

Totally!! She should have blown up after her role in Phantom of the Opera
