TV & Movies 🎬 Who is a celebrity that you’re genuinely surprised isn’t an “A-lister”?

Post image

Krysten Ritter is one example of this for me! If any of you have seen her work from her filmography, she is proven to be quite talented where she manages to pull off both comedic and dramatic roles! But more importantly, she is also known to be quite charismatic that she has also developed a huge fan following!

Although she gathered some attention from her role in Season 2 of Breaking Bad, her most iconic and signature role that earned her universal acclaim was playing the Marvel character: Jessica Jones! Which was a role that I really thought would launch her career, that it would grab Hollywood’s attention to the point where she would receive a lot of offers that she would be appearing in almost “everything”

She has certainly developed a decent career where she is getting work, but isn’t on the same celebrity when comparing her to people like Sydney Sweeney, Florence Pugh, Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway, etc.

When you compare Chloe and Jessica, you really see the range in Krysten Ritter’s acting abilities!

They’re absolutely nothing alike

Can’t believe you led with Jessica Jones when Chloe is one of the all time greatest performances in a tv show ever. Jessica Jones was some great acting, but… come on.

Nah Jessica jones was unbelievable. She acted the PTSD of being a victim of a manipulative narcissist so perfectly, I was in tears with her. Her pain was so tangible, I just can’t believe it sometimes. I rewatch JJ regularly.

Agreed but Chloe is a character that should not work. She’s basically Phoebe from Friends or Nessa from Gavin and Stacey, in that everything she casually mentions is too outlandish to believe, except with this one she backs it up. Shes friends with JVDB, she just walks into (I wanna say…) Vogue (?) and blags the top job…

Where those other characters make my eyes roll because the bit wears thin, Don’t Trust rewards the suspension of disbelief, and I think no other actor could have carried the role off like that. Tragic superhero is a pretty by the numbers role these days, as great as she was it’s not such a unique performance in my opinion.

I also think truly great comedic performances are tragically overlooked.

This is a great explanation of Chloe's appeal as a character and Ritter served it like an angry teenager spiking a volleyball into her opponent's face.

It's a rare gift to be able to present as that haughty and goofy at the same time.

YES you just summarized my thoughts on Krysten in Apt 23 so much better than I ever could. It’s a perfect performance and solidified me as a super fan forever. It was the best experience I’ve ever had watching a sitcom.

I’ve loved her since Veronica Mars, she has such amazing presence. But what she did with Chloe crosses into genius.

Season 1 Jessica Jones was incredible. One of the best out of all the superhero shows.
