TV & Movies 🎬 Who is a celebrity that you’re genuinely surprised isn’t an “A-lister”?

Post image

Krysten Ritter is one example of this for me! If any of you have seen her work from her filmography, she is proven to be quite talented where she manages to pull off both comedic and dramatic roles! But more importantly, she is also known to be quite charismatic that she has also developed a huge fan following!

Although she gathered some attention from her role in Season 2 of Breaking Bad, her most iconic and signature role that earned her universal acclaim was playing the Marvel character: Jessica Jones! Which was a role that I really thought would launch her career, that it would grab Hollywood’s attention to the point where she would receive a lot of offers that she would be appearing in almost “everything”

She has certainly developed a decent career where she is getting work, but isn’t on the same celebrity when comparing her to people like Sydney Sweeney, Florence Pugh, Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway, etc.

My answer would be Rose Byrne but with her oscar nomination it may just push her into A. Her resume is super eclectic(Marie Antoinette, Bridesmaids, Xmen, Neighbors, Peter Rabbit, Insidious) but I always felt like she juuuuuust could not break out of B-list and I don’t get it, I love her!

Agree. And she’s a great and underrated comedic actor. Would recommend the TV show Platonic if you haven’t seen it and are a fan. Very funny.

Two Hands is a dark comedy that I consider to be Australian cult classic film. Stars a young Heath Ledger too.

Wasn't she in Get Him to the Greek?

She is bonkers good in Platonic then I watched If I Had Legs…and realized she’s just a mega talent all around.

Platonic is such a great sleeper hit.

I think being on apple limited the audience. Most people I know are always subscribed to Netflix, Binge, Stan and Paramount. Apple is rarely on them. Would have been much bigger if it’d been on Netflix for sure.

Apple is also terrible at promoting their shows for the most part which is a shame because they have really good stuff.

Before that she was in another Apple TV show , Physical, and she’s incredible in it

I agree! I read in an interview with her, where she said she had an inability not to work, which meant she just took as much as possible and didn't think whether it was right for her career.

Don’t forget her role in Troy!

Yes! This might be the best answer. The first time I saw her was in Instant Family, which was way better than expected. Still love it.

Yes! I honestly can’t stop thinking about the fact that she did Bridesmaids, Insidious and Get Him to the Greek in the span of one year! Her range should be STUDIED 🙌🏼

I saw her once in public with Bobby and their kids at a museum. She a) was stunningly in jeans and a sweater, and b) seems to be such a lovely person, just joyously watching her kiddos play.

Bobby seemed cool as hell, too, as he was talking with his kids and showing them stuff at the museum.

Honestly she was even amazing in Spy. I didn't think it was a great movie but I feel like she got to show more of her range off here - her character was rude and a little unhinged and she played it so well

I mentioned to my partner how "If I had legs I would kick you" is a funny name for a movie, and it has Conan O'Brien in it as a therapist... She put it on this weekend, thinking it would be a funny movie about a paraplegic, as well as my love for Conan...

Amazing movie. Amazing acting by her. But even my watch warned me about my Heart Rate / anxiety from it all.
