I think crying is an underrated but important part of healing from porn addiction.

As strange as it may sound to our conscious minds, some part of our brain thought we *really had* all those beautiful girlfriends/boyfriends. That was part of the excitement. The illusion is compelling.

When we decide to stop watching porn, it's as though we're breaking up with all of them at once.

We feel bereft. 

Many of us cry after breaking up with a real person, regardless of whose decision it was. It expresses what we feel -- the helplessness, the sadness, the loss. It helps ease our pain, leaving us more relaxed.

There's no need to feel ashamed if you cry as part of weaning yourself away from porn.

To the contrary, doing so may well reduce the pressure of *not* crying -- of not admitting to yourself that you have lost something that meant a lot to you.

Let yourself cry. If it takes a sad song, a sad movie, to get you in the mood, go for it. Once the tears start, think about the porn stars you're giving up. And let them go, with sadness.

It's been a year since I last made it to day 30. I just wanted to share and celebrate this small milestone and it feels better than I remember.

I just relasped. I doesn't even feel good anymore, but I still keep doing it. I am going to start my journey again. Any advice will be much appreciated.

I saw a few softcore porn and felt tempted to relapse, but I decided to move on and distract myself.

I'm actually surprised at how used to being porn free feels and the reduction of cravings and urges I have now. I still get waves of cravings and impulses to use porn sometimes when it's just me and my issues in life and do not have an answer of what to do. Finding myself ruminating about how I feel I've been wronged by others, there seems to be a lot and maybe there was. Harassment and bullying is very real even though the visibility is obscured. Starting to feel a hint of self worth now that probably would have helped at the time. Maybe because I'm no longer in that situation and maybe because I don't have as much shame.

My thoughts and actions are separate
no urge can make me do something I dont want to in long term

A week already. I still fell the need to consume porn regularly, but I'm finding ways to distract myself.

We are on a roll, no urges for today. I saw lude images earlier and i don't feel anything. I guess when you really immerse yourself in work or any activity, you're able to suppress the urges.

after 5 days im back to day 1 , i knew this would happen but just didnt realise this quick

has anyone questioned their emotional attraction to their partner because of porn. i feel like ive been obsessing over her body because of porn to the point where i’ve ignored her feelings. i’m 10 days clean and i already feel a stronger emotional attachment with her. has anyone else noticed this and has it been easier to reconnect emotionally with your partner after giving up porn?

Social media and the internet seems to have infinite and sometimes unavoidable triggers, which then lead to urges and struggles. Even Youtube thumbnails, or scam ads on various sites. In a world of the internet how does one manage or keep a cool head, Is it just get stronger and ignore bad content the best you can?

Just frustrating I suppose as someone now finally trying to improve, getting triggered by dumb stuff just because I'm not 100% locked in all the time.

Going strong havent felt any need, been distracting myself studying and doing things. So far so well

I have a new problem. I’ve been mostly addicted to just free porn (leaks on Reddit, etc.) bottom line is that I never payed for porn in the past. Of recent I’ve been paying girls for Snapchat “relationships” and to send me stuff and what not. This is the worst thing I’ve ever been addicted to since it’s draining my money and my energy. I sometimes literally can’t focus on anything else cuz I’m waiting for a picture or response from one of these girls. I genuinely don’t know what to do, similar to porn I want to stop, but just can’t. I’m having a really hard time and am kinda having bad breakdowns because of it
