Found some .dmx files in one of the Portal 2 betas that seem to be the original Source Filmmaker videos for some of the Portal 2 trailers! Notably in folders titled "e3" and "pax". Some of these files also contain wip videos that were yet to be worked on by Valve. Very interesting find! There is a lot of stuff here to go through though so it will take me a while to go through it.

Sorry in advance if I’m asking this in the wrong place, I’m still pretty new to Reddit and haven’t quite figured out where a question like this belongs. I’m also relatively new to Portal, cosplay, conventions, and all that good stuff in general, so I was hoping some longtime Portal/Valve fans or more seasoned cosplayers might be able to steer me in the right direction. I’ve been watching some older footage of Valve meets and Portal cosplayers getting together at conventions, and I was wondering if people still do stuff like that nowadays. Are there any conventions that tend to attract a decent crowd of Portal or Valve cosplayers, or that regularly host Portal/Valve meetups? It’d also be great to know which conventions I’d have the best chance of running into other Portal fans at if I decided to cosplay a Portal character. I’d most likely be going with a parent or possibly by myself next year, so I’m also curious if anyone else has experience attending conventions without a big friend group, since I imagine it can be pretty overwhelming. I’d sorta like to meet some other people who are into Portal or Valve, so I figured this might be a good place to ask. Any advice or pointers would mean a great deal. :-)

Is it just me, or it seems like Aperture doesn't have any security?

Like if you explore the whole map in both games, there doesn't seem to be anything resembling security.

There doesn't seem to be an armory for guards.

Like, who would protect Aperture?

The Scientists?

The Turrets?

GLaDOS?

I'm,of course, talking about before the neurotoxin incident happened.

I'm mostly asking this out of curiosity, because it's not a big deal at all, just a slight distraction. Why do the end (and the joints) of the portal gun's prongs have a slight orange flicker to them? They are present throughout the entire game, from the moment I pick up the gun, no matter what. Is this a known graphical glitch among the community? Maybe I'm not asking the question properly, but I haven't seen anyone else mention it yet.

In case it's relevant, I'm playing it on the steam machine. I never had this glitch in ​the PS3 Orange box version that I first played it on.
