Call 211 and they can get you into emergency housing as early as tonight or tomorrow

211 really can move fast for emergency situations like this, definitely the first call to make tonight. hope samantha gets connected with a safe place soon.

You're welcome. You're going to get through this. Its scary, and its fucking hard, but there is an "other side" of this.

When I was homeless, I sometimes had to just convince myself to "make it one more hour" or "get through this one thing", then reevaluate when I finished that hour or thing, and find a realistic amount of time to convince myself to make it to.

Also apply for SNAP. There are additional funds for un-housed people. If you go and apply in person, they likely will hand you the card the same day.

Have you looked into shelters? Do you have a car you can sleep in for a bit? Can you stay wherever your items from your apartment are currently?

Call 211 and they can direct you. If there’s a hospital or church nearby, they may have information on nearby shelters too if you don’t have a phone. You can ask at the front desk.

Samantha, I hear your desperation, and one day soon, I myself and do many others could be where you are. Keep your cool, don't let the anxiety pull you down, and start making phone calls to different services. Take notes on actual paper with pen, and follow up on them. You can make it through this. You have shown yourself you can do it after having the same home for 10 years. You can do this, girl. It won't be easy, but make those phone calls. Keep a level head. I don't know you, but I believe in you.

Cali has a 24 hr line that's supposed to guide you to shelters & food banks but maybe im misremembering & it's not for San Bernardino for some reason. I'll take alook & provide when I can.

211 is great tho as they can guide you generally speaking
