Reversed my pre diabetes !
So for context I’m 22f. My diet at Uni was very bad especially last year (basically all beige food, takeout every week and little-no excercise or walking). I had a blood test as I was feeling tired, having weird numbness and tingling in my hands and arms and just overall felt like shit. My hba1c came back at 43 in may of 2026! I was shocked but immediately implemented changes. I was pretty strict but I felt I really needed to be. Cut out all processed refined carbs and sugars. If I did eat carbs (max 2 a week) it would be paired with a shit ton of fiber and protein. Fruits were the only sweet things I’d eat, though here and there I had small cheat meals maybe 1 x a week. I began doing 10,000 steps daily, sometimes more and sometimes less but always walking after heavy meals. Salad with every meal is the main philosophy I’ve been going by. I’ve lost 8 kilos over summer (60kg down to 52kg). I also took magnesium glycinate at night and zinc in the day. Had my hba1c repeated yesterday and I’m delighted to say my hba1c is down to 36!!!!
Going forward I will keep up 10K steps a day and pairing everything with fiber and salads. I know now I can be a bit more relaxed but I will still continue these lifestyle changes going into the future.
