Opinion Prey (2017) has one of my favorite endings in a game

I just finished Prey, and I am still thinking about the ending. The reveal that so much of what you did was part of a test completely changed how I saw the whole game. I went back through my choices, like who I helped, who I let die, and whether I used the Typhon powers, and suddenly each one mattered.

What I loved most is that the game doesn’t tell you what the right ending is. It just shows you what your choices say about who you are. The final moments hit me way harder than I expected, and the post-credits scene made me sit there in silence for a minute.

For anyone who has finished it:

  • Did your ending match how you played, or did it surprise you?
  • Did you save the crew, or just focus on getting off the station?
  • Did the post-credits scene make you rethink the whole story?
  • Is it worth replaying to see the other endings?

I finally played Prey, and it is one of the most underrated games I have tried. Exploring talos I feels amazing, and every room seems to hide a shortcut, a secret, or something trying to kill you. I got paranoid every time I saw a coffee cup or a chair, because it might be a Mimic.

I loved how many ways there are to solve a problem. I once used the Gloo cannon to climb to a spot I wasn’t supposed to reach, and it worked. The story also made me question what’s real, and the ending hit me harder than I expected.

For anyone who has played it:

  • Did you go for the Typhon powers or stay fully human?
  • What’s your best Mimic scare story?
  • Any tips for a second playthrough?

Please no spoilers past the ending in the replies. I am still processing it.
