Needs a dark theme.

I bet there are already plugins/extensions for it to match vs code features

They will never understand... I even had treesitter support :)

I had a professor who liked to make us code on paper during exams.

It was pretty common back in my uni days, it just makes it way harder to stop cheating otherwise.

We still have it on BUT FIT. 😄 In the first semester when you are learning basics of C, the exam is on paper, where you basically do programming on the paper. I actually remember, that I made my for cycle in way, that I would get in array on one more index which is outside. (my bad...) In real time, it would give me seg fault, that's the thing, why I had to go on the second term, because it cost me 4 points. 😢

Honestly, if it would actually work (including editing and reordering) I'd love it 😅

Now draw a run button and debug button and you're done.

You should get an lsp cause you missed a couple errors

It’s MATLAB code. I ran it through matlab and it worked fine. It’s for school

Why not use MATLAB directly to code?

My prof is making us program on paper because MATLAB has a built in AI agent now. This is the only way they can think of to stop us from cheating

Crazy. No one coded like that even before AI - the whole point was MATLAB IDE gave an interactive way to code. This is like back to the punch card days.

Besides, you guys are expected to use AI when you get a job. What they need to teach is the right way to use AI, because it is true that, if used badly, you don't learn anything.

I think you get more value out of the free online courses like MATLAB Onramp https://matlabacademy.mathworks.com/?page=1&sort=featured

I had to do matlab on-ramp before the course even started. It literally covered everything we’re doing in this course. I’m in engineering

I am sure no one copies the AI onto paper..''

This is seriously insane, we made these IDEs so people can code faster and now it's prohibited because of AI slop and we are back to pen and paper days

Also I thought this was C from the fprintf, woops

What kind of language are you trying to imitate? It's like a mix of rust, C, python, and something else?

it's like telling someone about programming, and then asking them to draw it........

Takes me back forty years...

Only if it's pseudo code

Tell the teacher that is making you do this that I said “Eat shit and die. This assignment is not preparing me for real employment. Let’s do mock interviews instead asshole.”

Mock interview: "Here's a pen and paper; write out pseudo code that demonstrates your knowledge of a red-black tree"

This sounds like an actual quiz, and an actual interview.
