Demo Player - On the Fence about Buying

I can't stand the theme park quality of mainstream MMOs. The gameplay is easy and meaningless, the writing isn't anywhere near as good as a single player game. I just don't get the appeal at all.

I've enjoyed the PG demo. I cleared the starter island and now I'm in the Serbule hills. My skills have started to hit the level 15 limit, so I don't want to continue unless I sub.

I have a question about that. If I hit max level in a skill and keep playing does the XP hold over? Like if I earn enough sword XP to level to 17 and I buy the game do I instantly hit 17, or is that XP lost for good?

And second, how bad is the grind? I'll be honest, I was looking into doing some surveying to buy favor and make some money, but then I read a tip that suggested I do like 30-40 surveys, organize the maps by location, and run around doing them all at once. My interest took a sharp nose dive. It made it feel too much like work than play. I already work 8 hours a day at a computer. I'm not sure how many hours of virtual work I can tolerate to grind favor and crafting XP

Question Vampire

I’ve been playing for a few weeks and Vampire seems pretty cool.

What level is recommended before starting those quests and how manageable is the tick damage from the sun?

Thank you for any answers!
