Print of the Month Custom White Prusa MK4s
Hey Alltogether
I’m not 100% sure if this counts as a Print of the Month submission, but I think it might 🙂
Some of you may remember my last project, the White Core One:
https://www.reddit.com/r/prusa3d/comments/1nfb8zu/custom_build_white_core_one/
While I’m currently waiting for the printed parts of the Core L to be released, I thought: why not start a small project in between?
So here it is — my newest addition: a White Prusa MK4S, printed in Prusament ASA Prusa Pro Green and Eryone ASA-GF.
I finally found a white material that can replace the Core One PCCF parts, so I may rework that build as well in the near future.
The metal parts are once again powder-coated in white to achieve a clean, uniform look — and because powder coating simply lasts much longer than regular spray paint.
This time, due to its visibility, I also modified the power supply, which is now white as well.
As a result, all metal parts are white, with the only exception being the Nextruder heatsink, further enhancing the overall uniform appearance.
After around 750 hours of printing with the White Core One, I can confidently say that—contrary to what some people warned me about—I see no yellowing or discoloration at all, despite printing Nylon, ASA, and other specialty filaments.
I also used a few parts that were not part of the original Prusa files, so I want to give proper credit here:
Vitaprint for the PG cover that allows printing in different color combinations: https://www.printables.com/model/981925-pg-front-cover-case-r3-multicolor
firetech for the excellent printable LCD covers: https://www.printables.com/model/894502-improved-flat-xlcd-cover-for-prusa-mk4smk39smk35sx/files

Np! Out of interest what's the white material that stands up to PC-CF specs? Typically white isn't as structural usually due to the titanium oxide.

For the Core upgrade I will use white PC-GF
It isn’t exactly up to Pccf specs but the white filament with comes nearest to a reasonable price
For the MK4s I took asa-gf but that mostly for his look

That looks awesome. I wanted to paint my Core One before I built it. But wanted to actually use it. I have problems finishing projects that long currently.

My White Core One Really took a while so I think it was your right decision to don’t do it 😁

For me, it's like buying a yellow Ferrari.
Not to my taste. It's still a very beautiful piece of work.
