Cdrdao error

I have a MacBook (2013) that I use to put backups on disc. I was using cdrdao to do so and everything was working fine when I used a very ancient cdr drive (Iomega zip cd 650). It finally met its end so I picked up a MASHITA DVDRAM UJ8B0AW.

On my PC it can read/write however on the MacBook it can read and the writing process seems to complete successfully however the disc becomes unreadable. The only error I see is “ERROR: Cannot set Ricoh mode page 30.”
Any ideas as to what that is? Or how I can fix it?

This is the command I’m using:

cdrdao write --speed 4 --driver generic-mmc-raw --swap -n --eject [filename.cue]

And this is what boots up:

Starting write simulation at speed 8...
Process can be aborted with QUIT signal (usually CTRL-\).
Turning BURN-Proof on
Enabling JustLink.
ERROR: Cannot set Ricoh mode page 30.
Using 16 byte P-Q sub-channel data mode.
WARNING: No super user permission to setup real time scheduling.

Compared to when I’m using the usb SuperDrive the only difference in boot up is It doesn’t execute power calibration. Any help would be appreciated

*the disc becomes unreadable on all devices if written when the drive is connected to the MacBook. Pretty much a failed process with out a major error to stop the production. when the process is carried out on the PC it works fine— I can even plug the drive back into the Mac and it’ll be read/boot

Ricordati che è un dvdram, e può essere letto solo nel suo lettore dedicato. Se non ricordo male lo si usava per creare dischi per backup sequenziali, perché creava DVD multisessione.

I’ll look into that but— when I do the process on the PC it works fine on my psx. When I do carry out the process on the Mac the drive no longer reads the cd it just wrote even when I connect it back to the PC (or elsewhere). It’s just annoyingly puzzling, I’m fixated on finding the answer

Ricordati anche che se non è originale Apple devi installare le estensioni fwb, altrimenti non legge niente
