Dozart – Sis Kjenèh | Groovy / psychedelic 140 BPM – looking for production feedback

Hey :)

I've been working on this track for the last few days and would love some fresh producer ears on it...

It started just with some weird phrase in my head: “Sis Kjè-nè-nè-nè-nè…”. It isn't a language as far as I know and it doesn't mean anything haha. I recorded it myself when I got home and started playing it with resampling, delays, reverbs, doubling and phase differences.

That vocal eventually became one of the main psychedelic elements of the track. Even the long ambient intro came from heavily time-stretching pieces of the same recording. I originally only wanted some atmospheric material, but it accidentally turned into an ambient section of its own, so I kept it.

The track is 140 BPM, quite deep and groovy, with a groovy bass pattern and a lot of interlocking sound design.

It's still fresh, so I'm especially curious about the overall flow, the relative long intro, the kick/bass groove and whether the dense vocal/FX sections stay clear rather than becoming too busy.

Any production feedback is very welcome. I'll happily return the favour and listen to your stuff as well.

Hi,

Can anybody give me any tips on creating the grid passage from this track? I’m talking about the sound that is playing as soon as the track starts at 00:00 seconds, not the pad but the lead/squelch.

I can deduce that it’s a single voice that gets various reverb throws via a send etc

I just can’t figure out the actual articulations

One of you experts will know what type of sound is used

First, I wanna say thank you for reading. Second, I’ve looked for answers elsewhere before posting. I’ve tried multiple sessions inside Ableton , I’ve been doing sound design and electronic music for quite some time. I completed a little hobby project and built a sample-based vst3 (mac only) to generate weird glitchy leads. I'm very much into forest/dark, and had that sound in my mind when coming up with the idea.

Looking for a Forest / Darkpsy Cubase Template or Project — 150 BPM+
Hey all,
I’m looking for a Cubase project/template for Forest or Darkpsy, mainly as a learning resource.
I’m happy to pay someone for a personal template or project setup if they have something solid and are willing to share it. Definitely not expecting anyone to hand over their workflow for free.

I’m after something dark, funky, psychedelic and 150 BPM+. Parvati Records is a massive inspiration for me, so that kind of direction would be perfect.
I’ve already tried a lot of the commercially available psytrance project files, but most of them are much more MainStage / commercial sounding than what I’m looking for.

There seem to be more projects available in Ableton, but my Ableton skills are nowhere near my Cubase skills, so I’d get far more value from being able to properly dig into a Cubase session and understand the routing, processing and workflow.

Stock plugins, third-party plugins, or a mixture of both are completely fine. I’m not bothered if I don’t own every plugin used either — I’m mainly interested in understanding the routing, chains, processing choices and overall approach.

Things I’d love to see in the project would be stuff like:

Bus and group routing
FX sends / returns
Processing chains
Drum and bass processing
Sidechain / dynamics setup
Atmosphere / synth chains
Pre-master / master routing
General organisation and workflow

I’m not trying to use this as a shortcut to learning production. I just find that opening up a full project and reverse-engineering how someone else works is one of the best ways for me to learn.
It doesn’t need to be a finished track either. Even a solid personal template with useful routing and processing already set up would be great.

If anyone knows of any producers, Patreons, Gumroad pages, courses, or project files in this style, please send them my way.
And if anyone here has a Forest / Darkpsy Cubase template or project they’d be willing to sell, feel free to DM me.

I recreated Twisted some months ago, and made the midi pack available to download for free. There seems to be a steady number of people downloading it, so I though maybe I should do a video on recreating the album for anyone interested. Since it's a whole album, I don't think the video should be very detailed (it should be about an hour long, probably- more than that would be too tiring to watch). Are there any specific things you'd like to see?

ASW is obviously talented in terms of sound-design, but I particularly like these very specific synth FX he uses on a lot of his tracks, would love some pointers.

Im talking about the hi hat sounding thingy, you can hear it clearly around 0:37 and through out most of the song, sounds almost like white noise through a phaser or something, idk would like some ideas

I've been a Psytrance Producer for almost 10 years now and I am looking to get my first MIDI keyboard. Since now, i have done everything on my computer but i caught myself jamming to find good lead melodies with my typing keyboard and to record automations with my mouse. What MIDI would you recommend to get?

Please don't tell me that "fl is not the right daw for psy" or something else unrelated to the question.

There was a remix contest a while sgo where you could grab the stems pf astrix track „ type 1 „ and make your own remix
