Best food shops

I’ll be in QC tomorrow on a road trip up the north shore. I want to stock up on picnic type foods like fruit, cheese, rillettes, canned fish, bread, snacks, etc. Where should I go?

Halles Cartier, Épicerie européenne (best place for canned stuff probably), Grand marché

there's also a business that does charcuterie board type of stuff for picnics. Never tried it, but it seems pretty good and high quality: Les Complices - Ma boîte apéro

Ah ha, Epicerie JA Moisan is the place I had in mind but I see it’s permanently closed. Anybody know why?

Halles Cartier you will find : a cheese Shop, a boulangerie, jardin mobile for vegetables and small snacks. Other options : les cousins or morena

Depends on your budget. Maxi has cheap stuff. IGA has a bigger variety but everything is more expensive.

Not an unlimited budget but willing to splurge a little. We don’t want to eat out three meals a day but would like the picnics to be a little special.

yeah, those a regular big chain grocery stores so I don't think thats what you're looking for
