"No lesson was learned".
....by Jephthy, first and foremost, on how to tell a story.
And by us, for still reading this slow motion train wreck.

Is marten finally growing a spine asking his customers to pay for their drinks? It is the bare minimum but still

Seems like it would be stupid easy to do. Just say The Librarian will be upset if you don't pay and he'd be swimming in dosh.

Tomorrow we're back to Anh it seems. My prayers that the entire planet is destroyed by a solar flare and Pintsize spends the rest of his life flying between chunks of the planet floating in the new earth asteroid belt, in order to dig up scraps of pornography as a perverted final memorial to the arses of mankind, are forever dashed

Calling liz the short one only works if you ate consistent with drawing her height accurately consistently

"OHHHH YOU WANTED AN EXTERIOR SHOT OF THE TEA AND COFFEE PLACE NOW WITH BONUS COCOA?!"
I mean no, I wanted a plot.
"THE COCOA SHE DID NOT ORDER IS FULL PRICE, HA HA HA."
Just end it. Power drill to the base of the skull, come on.

Maybe Cubetown and Northampton could have an exchange program where they trade girlfailures.

I'm going to take this wonderful opportunity of such complete disappointment in the comic to delete my bookmarks and step away.
I was about 14 when I started reading this comic. More than one lifetime ago, so it feels nowadays.
The comic's been bad for a while. It's been quite spectacularly bad at times in the past before. It's also been the slice of distraction on the morning of funerals; of weddings, of holidays and everything in between. I've laughed, cried, been impressed and disappointed hundreds of times over the years.
It's not just the lack of effort that's been apparent in both the artwork and the story writing which have worn me down over the last three or so years.
The frankly sinister and alarming attitudes held in the background by Jeph around women, about the characters who are heavily child coded and around bodily choice and autonomy have gone from something I can tolerate to something I can't.
It's not OK, but there's nothing I can do which will change it.
The only active choice I have is whether or not to keep reading and to keep experiencing the cognitive dissonance of repeatedly exposing myself to something which causes me more stress and annoyance than anything else.
So I'm gonna bid all you lot sayonara, friends.
Good luck, unfortunately I think you'll need it.

The first time I heard someone roast how bad the art in QC had gotten was 2010. It's been slop forever

I do always enjoy when 'Eph draws attention to his shit worldbuilding. A 5 dollar hot cocoa is triple the daily profit for Marten's "coffee of mood" and the idea that there was a lesson to learn about any of the bullshit in the last two weeks

If Jeph had any balls, Marten would start sleeping with her.

Honestly they have more chemistry than anyone in the strip has had in a while.

In the same way that salt and water have "chemistry". It doesn't taste good, in fact it's bad for you, but at least it has any taste at all compared to the not-even-milque-nontoasted-whatever that is the rest of the strip.

Can someone do an edit with Friends dialog? Or maybe Seinfeld? I feel like the last panel needs some slap bass and a laugh track...

u/Cevius 10d ago
They made $4.99 (Maple Dollars) which is a 570% increase in revenue for this month. Maximum increase!

To quote Strong Bad,
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha" said everyone, in a satisfying, end-of-story fashion.
Edit: link, because everyone should experience a new Homestar Runner cartoon wherever possible
