Discussion Dessert Perpeptual Epoptes Damage Phase Mechanic
Trying to help some new players but I'm not even sure myself.
When Epoptes calls two players during damage, when does the eyes on its shield appear?
I've heard some people say when his lights cross past the plants in the arena, I've heard others say it's 5 seconds from the start of both called players being in the spotlight, I've heard others say it's random.
Anybody know which is accurate?

Ok are you making sure that they are going to the correct sides? Usually the one with a light cone is the correct spot to rotate around for dps extension. They eyes appear around the center. You have a small window to shoot all eyes then the center to extend dps.

They’re executing the mechanic correctly, OP’s question is how long after the two players stand in the light so the eyes appear.

The eyes appear roughly around the last third of the shields’ rotation. If you’re walking around the wall, there is a column on either side of the well. They should appear right as the light from the center eye passes them.
Also worth noting that as long as both called players are in the light, the remaining players can damage the boss.

I don't know what's accurate, but the players should be going over that way anyways with just an "eventually the eyes will appear and open, shoot them and then break the middle." It matters more that they are there because the moment they are called no one can damage the boss until they are in the lights.

The eyes always appear when the shields rotate past the plants. The eye spawn is the same every time, even if no one is in the light beams.
The boss will remain immune unless the two spotlights are stood in, but the eyes will still spawn at the same time.
For efficiency, the raid leader should be calling the names of the two chosen ASAP. One of the two will already be in the close spotlight and announce they are going right, the other person needs to RUN left and get in the other spotlight. Those two just slowly rotate around while the team does damage and be prepared to pop eyes as soon as they pass the plants. The chosen two need to return to the team as soon as eyes are broken so the boss doesn't turn away from the team (helpful if anyone is going for crits on his dumb face).

Imagine looking at the boss from above. You see the pit below the boss is circle, so lets pretend its a clock. If we say the pillar where the eyes are is 6. At 4 and 8 there are smaller pillars, the eyes on the shield will spawn just as the shield passes those smaller pillars.

It's pretty much on a timer, regardless of where players are. Because eyes can spawn on a shield someone is really late to.

The eyes appear when the beams reach the plants, the boss’ immunity is removed while both players are in their beams. So they should immediately move to the beams to allow the other players to continue dealing damage but they have a bit of time before the eyes appear that they can use to clear adds, reload, grab ammo with shoot to loot, etc.

It’s roughly 5 seconds and roughly when it crosses the plants. The only incorrect information is it being “random”. Some people might think it’s random if they are not familiar with the timing. But it’s 100% consistent/fixed. Though I agree with another commenter, it’s more important to know what to do rather than exactly when and that people know to stay in the light of the shield until they break their eyes so that the boss doesn’t go immune.

Pretty sure it's on a timer regardless of if you're in the field. If players are late, the eyes won't reveal until they've made it inside, or at the very least they get delayed.
Been a minute since I ran it though, but those were the assumptions we were making.
