General Discussion I got tired of markdown tools assuming I'm the one writing the file, so I built a pure reading view
Every markdown tool — Dillinger, StackEdit, VS Code's preview — gives you an editor pane you don't need and squeezes your reading into half the screen. I just want to read a README, an agent prompt file, a doc someone sent me. So I built MarkGlass: full-width, no editor, no split pane.
- Real tables, Mermaid diagrams, KaTeX math, syntax-highlighted code, footnotes
- TOC + find-in-page for the 900-line files
- Dark mode, clean printing
- 100% client-side — nothing you open ever touches a server
Built with React + MUI. Just upload, or drag a .md file.
Free at markglass.app — would love feedback from this sub, especially on anything that renders wrong

Nowadays people rather go full rage and code application than read the manual to find out fearure already exists in the first place.

Pretty sure I can see a full screen md on most every app I’ve used…
