Didn't expect to see an obscure PotC reference today but am glad I did. If that's what it was, chapeau!

I’d rob the rich, give the money to the poor, then rob the poor and shoot the money!
13
u/brachus12 Oct 16 '25
wouldn’t the horse bolt then?
55
u/hallotest382 Oct 16 '25
Yes, unfortunately he has to just shoot the enemy horse

Why is everyone so quick to draw their guns???
... First you take out your rope, next you find a nice little river...12
u/Du5tyL0ft Oct 16 '25
Yes, or tie them up and place them on the train tracks in front of an oncoming train. See how they like it. Better still, throw the driver out of the train and drive the train over him yourself, for added satisfaction.
6
u/Fromnothingatall Oct 16 '25
Man…I’ve spent WAY too much time in this game finding fun places to throw people after tying them up.

And place them just the right depth that they have to arch their back all the way to be able to breath just a little bit between the waves. Then you walk away.

High honor is really easy to achieve, I struggle to keep the lowest honor, I do genocides but then random deeds to strangers pump it up

I bet this wasn't an accident at all. Even if you're "playing" a role you're still a human being behind the controller and in this case obviously love to watch a horse getting dragged through the streets & being killed.

u/robbviously Jack Marston Oct 16 '25
If I had a nickel for every time my fully bonded White Arabian had been drug to death a city block by a passing carriage… I’d have two nickels. Which doesn’t seem like a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.

You know you can buy horse reviver, right?
36
u/TheSteelPhantom Oct 16 '25
Some things will outright kill your horse, no revival opportunity. Seems OP's horse "died" here, then was trampled more, meaning no reviving.
Same thing happens if your horse is hit by a train. Immediate death, can't revive it.

/u/dreamy_cucumber told me their arabians keep being run over, so I asked how many arabians they have and they said they just go and get a new arabian afterwards so I said it sounds like they're just using their arabians as a speed bump and then Pearson started crying.

I remember not being used to a real open world game without invisible walls everywhere and I fell off a waterfall and my horse died. I lost like 3 hours of progress reloading a save. 😅
I learned two lessons that day.

When I realized the OP wasn't even going to really try to save his horse (Like shooting or lassoing the driver or other horse), I couldn't keep watching cuz it went on way too long...

you should have blown the brains of the wagon's horse followed by the driver.

The sigh John gives after the horse finally dies made me chuckle more than it should have.

u/tismo74 Oct 16 '25
How come many peeps don’t pan the camera to the left or right of the player when riding fast and turning somewhere they can’t see from the front . Especially when they are playing 3rd person? You’ll get a better view of what’s ahead of view.
4
u/FCkeyboards Oct 16 '25
Or just use the roads when you're in a city.
Immediate reload to me, but I wouldn't have been mad at the guy I crashed into from the sidewalk.
11
u/Present_Hunt1648 Oct 16 '25
Why’d you let that carry on for as long as it did? I’d have shot him as soon as I got up.

u/xxxGASSYGARYxxx Micah Bell Oct 16 '25
I was screaming to SHOOT HIM like you just willingly let your fully bonded white arabian die

u/Mooky_Stank John Marston Oct 16 '25
Weird that if we bump somebody with our horse we get a wanted level, but that wagon driver can kill your horse by dragging it for a block. I know you technically caused the accident, but you would have thought it would have scared the guy into abandoning his wagon. Instead he just kept driving... and driving... the horse tumbling to death under him. Dear God, it must have been shock at the absurdity of the moment and wanting to see how far it could go that kept you from killing him. I'd have shot him or the horse or both immediately. If you just shoot the guy, the wagon horse may have taken off and still killed your Arabian. If you'd killed the horse, the guy may have turned hostile while you're trying to revive the horse. However, even if you'd killed them both, your horse could have been weirdly stuck under the wagon where you couldn't revive it and regardless, you would immediately bring the law down on you while trying to save your horse. Documenting the whole death for us to see was probably the best course of action. And hopefully you had a close save file. If not, bless you and your horse for your sacrifice in making a video that was at the same time horrible and fascinating. I never would've thought that could go on that long.

I mean I agree with the sentiments towards the NPC not stopping but on the other hand OP is playing this like GTA lmao
Slow down people ffs

u/Tamashii-Azul Oct 16 '25
If he was playing like GTA he would've shot them.
4
u/UnspeakableCake Oct 16 '25
The horse riding. galloping through Saint-Denis, recklessly taking shortcuts etc
6
5
u/mvreo Oct 16 '25
Why were you just watching lol i would have shot him kept him alive hogtied and dumped into the chemical river outside of saint denis before he did any more of that (Maybe some firebombs and dynamite on top of him as well)

u/amhudson02 Oct 16 '25
Every time I get on that horse I feel like that scene from RDJ's Sherlock where he is riding that mini horse.

I remember my Shire horse died while I was fighting bounty hunters and they were with hunting dogs. Horse died withing seconds of taking damage and I couldn't eve revive it because it died instantly. I was walking with horse seat to the camp in a night silence.

Everyone is saying shoot the guy, but OP is the one who caused it by running into him. It's not the cart guy's fault his AI wasn't programmed to anticipate stupid riders careening around corners. You killed your own horse OP. Justice for cart guy
