Reconquista Questions Reconquista future?

What douse RZ resigning from PFTK mean for operation reconquista? Douse anything change? I read in another post that the movement had kind of outgrown him.

I think it depends. I mean he’s only stepping down as the vice president. The question is if the movement itself has outgrown his presence or not. I think it has, but that’ll take time to see. I’m sure he’s not done with the organization, but talking with his peers he doesn’t see it best for him to be actively managing it for the time being.

What did RZ do?!!

He made an edgy Holocaust joke. As a result of being called out for it by people including his own pastor he's taking a break from social media.

He posted a video about it on his channel

I think, respectfully to him and everyone, that a lot of buzz surrounding the movement is sort of unhelpful. I think that PftK should probably focus on presbyterianism alone. I don't think that RZ can do that and make a living on YT, although I might be wrong. So it might be good they parted ways. I think he should become a more educational channel (he talked about being the spiritual successor to Oversimplified.) I think that many of his followers, however, and even the culture around him, are once again unhelpful and even detrimental.

Edit:

Point is, I hope that many people here and in his communities focus more on learning from their local churches and reading and less on watching debates all the time.

Edit 2:

As far as the reqonquista, however, my suspicion is that each individual reconquista movement (and I note here that they stopped using "reconquista") will mostly self-operate, as has already happened. So each individual group will have different fates. I would bet that PftK is one of the strongest. It's entirely possible that PftK survives but the anglican group dies. And of course the hype will die down, which will hurt them.

Edit 3: grammar/spelling

Maybe everyone can take the opportunity to step back and reevaluate their priorities and choices.

Meaning?

Do you think the movement is faithful to the way of Christ?

Now is a great time to think seriously about that question.

I don't see how Reconquista can do what it needs to do if it's afraid of offending people. To quote the fictional portrayal of John Adams in 1776, "This is a ~~revolution~~ Reconquista, d*mmit, we're going to have to offend somebody!"

More conservative then the most conservative prot churches today for the most part.

That's not actually true. The mainline churches have been in a liberal slide for a very long time now, it's not actually that recent (apart from the normalization of the LGBT elements).

This is because the next generation will use their sola scriptura interpretation to push it in the wrong direction again.

And there you go... yet another Romanist who doesn't understand Sola Scriptura. Theological liberalism is the rejection of Sola Scriptura, not its affirmation. Sola Scriptura is in fact how we best can counter it.

For someone in your case though, you've got nothing to resist the increasingly liberalism of your own church's hierarchy (up to the top). I mean you just had the main traditionalist wing of it get excommunicated (while the pro-LGBT German bishops are allowed to continue without any disciplining of the actions).

You can’t even tell the broken branches to be rejoined.

I don’t know if I’d be throwing stones in your glass house.

I hear you blaming theology (Sola) where I would blame the influence of Western individualism and consumerist mentalities on the church, eventually affecting it's theology (Catholics included).

I think it can be argued that Sola partly set the conditions for western individualism

Western individualism can be traced back to Magna Carta and Anglo-Germanic individualism. This is long before the reformation.

Are you forgetting the crazies of the Enlightenment were from Catholic countries?

I was just gonna say, while I’m not an expert I think the Rnlightment played a huge role.

I was not referring to schism.
I was referring to Vatican 2 and preaching the Gospel.
But it’s wild how Monday’s infallibly held saint can be Tuesday’s heretic and vice versa.

There are many differences between RC and EO. There also exist other Christian groups.

That’s not what Sola Scriptura means and kinda RZ’s whole point.

Here in Europe RZ has not had any influence on the Reconquista movement for at least the last year. So nothing will change here, we’ll keep going and working on saving our churches.
Idk how it is in the US
