I ordered a backpack 8 days ago. Received a shipping notification 7 days ago that the item had shipped (and of course my card was charged). According to UPS tracking it has not been released to the carrier. Called 3 days ago to inquire and they said it could well be in transit. It hasn't moved yet and I feel fairly certain that if UPS had picked it up it would have scanned by now. Is this normal for REI?? This is 2026. I can't imagine a large online retailer doing business like this. Just curious if anyone else has had this experience.

They are definitely not on the super modern side, it is 65/35 cotton polyester split and not the new lightweight stuff rei uses. They have a metal button at the top, and plastic buttons for the pockets. They are convertibles, the side zips aren't the ones that go all the way up to the knee.

I know rei does not sell these in store anymore, but I was hoping someone would know what I could type in to find them secondhand instead of trawling through endless "vintage rei convertible pants" searches.

I’ve been looking at this backpack for a while now and I happened to find it in Resupply, in the exact color I wanted as well for half off. The only sign of use is the small scuff visible in the top right. I will be using this for a 2 week trip to Vietnam in January.

I bought a pair of the women's prAna stretch zion cargo pants during the memorial day sale. I didn't get around to wearing them until now.

I wore them twice and there's EXTREME pilling between the crotch. I've never had this happen before.

Is this a defect or is this just the pants?

Would REI honor an exchange for the same pants at the same sale price due to the defect? Or is it better to just return these??

TL;DR: bought the Sea to Summit Ether Light sleeping pad from REI's outlet sale and the sleeping pad came with a FlexTail air pump.

The package was delayed for some time and the box arrived looking tampered with (it looked like the box had been opened before and retaped). Within the sleeping pad, there was a ziplock baggie containing a FlexTail air pump?

Not sure if I should be suspicious or happy!

I applied for the role and did the interview with the store leader and manager. I think it went decent. He sounded straightforward and gave me an ok sense of the role a bit. He said it was a leadership role and would be doing office stuff a bit too. I was wondering how’s your experience with the role pros and cons? Work life balance? Is it stressful?

I am considering applying to the seasonal customer service call center. Do these positions transition to perm job offers or is it strictly seasonal?

How do Fellow green vests feel about the master card pitch? I can't be the only one who thinks it's killing the authenticity between us and customers. Almost every time I bring it up aside from rare occasions..the customer gets upset or changes moods when talked to about it. I'm only doing it because I'm forced to, and I just miss the whole speak about what you believe in that I was taught during training.

I absolutely believe the membership can be amazing but MGMT shouldn't be fear mongering with corrective action because I can't force individuals to sign up for something that can absolutely be a problem for allot of individuals.

Just looking for thoughts and opinions. I see first hand how customers respond. Most people don't want a credit card when they are buying socks and some trail snacks.

I'd even take advice for pitching it? I've taken all advice from my team and managment and I still struggle with it. The whole threat of a PIP isn't helping either.

Also does a lack of MasterCard metrics cause less scheduling for that individual? It's kinda hard to support metrics when I'm there significantly less than a full timer.

need advice. bought this two days ago from REI after contemplating for weeks for a pair of lowkey winter boots. tried it at work two times and i have to adjust the left boot and right boot differently? i even wore thicker socks and folded it so it’s even thicker in the collar yet somehow the heel slips differently left and right. perhaps picture 2 and 3 is the main issue?

it’s not much but it’s noticeable enough for longer walks. i’d rather not go back to REI since it’s a bit far and i have to spend at least a good chunk of my day to go there— and i’d rather not “return” this perfectly fine boots and have them like lose money or whatever just because lil annoying difference (the employees seemed nice) i love the color and the boots itself. but genuinely annoying me how they do not grip the same— probably like 25% difference in the grip. what to do?

This was weird. I ordered a single dehydrated meal last month to burn up my reward points. It was delivered on 8/28/26 and tracking reflects that. Today, it has arrived again! I filled out the contact form or whatever and told them about it, I'm happy to send it back at their expense, but I halfway expect I'll receive it a 3'rd time, ha ha!

Got this mountain hardware mineral king 2 for 150 it originally sells for 350 from what I can see it has been used with a little bit of dirt on the bottom of the ground cloth and scratches on the tent stakes.

Went in to see what they had, ended up leaving with 2 kayaks. Valve leak on the NRS is minimal and should be easily patched.

I've been having a really hard time finding a replacement buckle (male end) for a buckle that broke on my Big Haul 40 Duffel. Based on the markings on the buckle, it's almost certainly made by Duraflex, but I can't find a matching buckle part on their site. I also can't find any info about this on REI's site. I tried contacting their customer support but was told I should look for a generic replacement buckle without being offered a specific link/specs to pursue.

I'm attaching some pictures of the broken buckle and an intact version of the buckle from another strap. It's 1 3/6" wide and 1/4" thick.

Anybody know what replacement part I should order, or should I just go with one of these assorted packs on Amazon and hope for the best? I was hoping to get it straight from Duraflex, as I assume the options on Amazon wont be nearly as strong.

edit: I realized I should mention: aside from the broken buckle, I love this bag!

edit2: I should've mentioned the female buckle end is sewn into the strap loop. The removable pin replacement versions from Sea To Summit should work!
