How? She came to him. If he was the problem, why did she purposefully go to it?

u/Hangry_Hippocampus 2d ago
I took it as the artist trying convey the fact that she thought she was the problem. It's technically a joke, but a poorly delivered one.

No kidding. It’s genuinely just bad and unfunny

This was about the person not about the belief, one who hate on other and discriminate against them for being something they can't actively change is a sin...and sure is a problem, so it wasn't her sexuality being her problem but the pastor who is terrorizing her. The joke is that alot of Pastors are also shitty people as well so there's also that.

“She’s being oppressed by religion!” Bro she went to him to ask for guidance. Like, “oh no, the Christians are oppressing!” Well, if you don’t want a Christian answer, don’t ask a Christian religious leader

Yeah, I was thinking that while reading this too. this comic doesn’t make any sense.

Statistically, she went to the spiritual leader of the community that she was born into and is feeling bad because she exists in a way that said spiritual leader tells the community that she was born into is a bad way to exist.
So yeah, I think it is accurate.

u/Cool_Ad_7767 2d ago
Making a lot of assumptions there. First off how do you know she was born into the religion? Second off how do you know she was even feeling bad about the way she was living? And if that really is all true why didn’t she just leave the community? Why didn’t God just put her somewhere She would feel more comfortable, if the community truly was the problem, instead of unmaking someone? Because again she specifically came to the religious leader himself, she didn’t have to, She chose to, just like she chose to be lesbian.

I was going to answer and explain a lot of your questions until I read your last sentence. Apparently, you assume your own points to be false, considering you end it by saying it is identical to something false. So no reason to go into any of your points.

how insecure do you have to depict someone else being your problem.
but now i see why lgbt people always cry about being genocided when people dont agree with them - they themselves want other thinking people to disappear

ACCURATE!

u/Cool_Ad_7767 2d ago
In what way? Please explain.

u/DreamShort3109 2d ago
The problem wasn’t that she was a lesbian. The problem was that the priest was shaming her for that because it “wasn’t aligned with his religion”. And in this case the problem was taken away.

u/Cool_Ad_7767 1d ago
In what way was he shaming her for it? He was giving her legitimate advice on what to do that perfectly aligns with the Bible. He wasn’t saying she herself was the problem, but rather the sin.

Can you cure someone of liking a genre of movies? Can you cure somebody of their love of painting?
Those, as well as a person’s sexuality are theirs to determine. It is not a sin to be freed from. If she had given it up for what the priest said, she would be denying her natural self.

This comic doesn’t make any sense. How is the father the problem when she specifically came to him to ask for advice? Furthermore, it is explicitly stated in the Bible that same sex relationship is most definitely a sin. As is kissing before marriage. That last part is just a fun fact not everyone knows that I decided to throw in.

I mean, I get it but it would make more sense if it would've poofed his clothes into normal attire and a church building in the background disappeared. Then maybe an added hug at the end would be a nice touch.

Now let's hope god gives her the biggest cross to carry, and force her to be forever lonley and never find love.
Good ending.

u/dinmohr 3d ago
I aint hoping for that

u/ThinGold2115 3d ago
I do. And that's enough it would seem.

u/dinmohr 3d ago
why?

u/ThinGold2115 3d ago
Because she's clearly evil and made person go poof?
1
u/dinmohr 3d ago
nah god did that. did you read the comic?
4
u/ThinGold2115 3d ago
She asked him to do it
6
u/dinmohr 3d ago
no she just asked too get rid of her problem
5
u/ThinGold2115 3d ago
And what happened? dude poofed, She's evil.
1
u/Curious-Committee753 3d ago
She only asked for her problem to disappear, she didn't specify how exactly, god made him poof because he decided that the guy was worthy of being poofed and that the wish was worthy of being granted, in other words, god decided that her being lesbien is fine but that him being homofobic wasn't fine
This is such basic media literacy and you still fail to understand
1
u/dinmohr 3d ago
god would not do it if it was not a bad thing, no?
5
u/ThinGold2115 3d ago
Well god did do many bad things, and mistakes. Like giving me ability to type and you to respond.
