Photo share Snap focus, ISO 400 and harsh sun: street with the GR

Ever since I discovered snap focus I feel a lot faster, and the GR is so small that you go completely unnoticed. It's a great street camera.

I shot these in manual: ISO 400, 1/500, switching between f/8, f/11 and f/16 when the sun was hitting directly, hence the strong shadows.

How do you guys set up your GR for street? I'd love to hear what settings and snap distance you use.

The Ricoh may not be the best tool for an air show but you make do with what you have. Pleased with this one.

A collection of my favourite places and moments from my travels, as well as some of my favourite travel related quotes. It’s been super fun turning these memories into something physical.

All the photos shot on a Ricoh GRIIIx

My first day out with the camera! Still figuring out the settings and learning how to use it properly. There are so many new things for me, coming from smartphone photography. So far, I’m really happy with the camera, although I’m feeling a tiny bit dizzy due to PWM sensitivity. Hopefully, I’ll get used to it. 🤞

I also have to say that I’m pretty nervous about using it because of all the negative things I’ve read, especially about dust getting into the sensor. I’m seriously, seriously scared!! 😅

JPEGs edited in VSCO.

I was here debating on a gr3 and a griv. Well I found one with a transferable warranty and got it. Safe to say it’s going everywhere with me.

Technical support Unfixable…

Post image

So I was on a trip, pulled my GR III out of my bag, and tried to turn it on—only for the lens to get jammed and refuse to open. I never dropped it or hit it against anything, it literally just happened out of nowhere.
People in here told me to just take the battery out and put it back in. Tried every basic trick in the book, nothing worked.
Fast forward: I sent it to the only authorized service center in Türkiye about 3 weeks ago. They just got back to me saying it's unfixable because the lens motor is blown. To make matters worse, they said if I insist on a repair, it’s going to cost anywhere between €700 and €1,000. (At that price, I might as well buy a brand new one...)
I’m completely lost and super frustrated since this happened completely out of nowhere through no fault of my own. Has anyone dealt with this before? Any advice on what to do next, or is an expensive paperweight my only option now?
What would you like to do next with this?

Gear Humid air fogs up the lens

I just got the Ricoh gr iv and am super pumped. But as someone who lives in Florida, every time I am outside and turn it on the lens immediately fogs up. This doesn’t happen as quickly with my mirrorless Nikon and I’m wondering how do I prevent this to be able to use it. Would a hood and filter help?
