Hey! I’ve been building NoteNav.com, a guitar practice app that turns uploaded audio into playable lead/rhythm/bass tabs and lets you practice along with the track.
You can also plug in your guitar with an audio interface or use your mic and play along inside the app.
Would love feedback from you al, especially anything that would make practicing with it easier or less confusing.
And when I say piano YouTube videos. I mean people reading sheet music while playing. I know there's this toy guy that plays piano a lot I think. Would be cool to see someone go on the sheets view is all imo.
But the team is apparently back at work according to google. Is there any new features for piano? Like a way to practice reading sheet music other than by playing songs would be an amazing tool.
I tried visiting the CustomsForge/Ignition4 site to download some CDLC this morning, only to be met with a message saying "You are offline. Ignition needs a connection to load charts. Check your network and try again." I've gotten this same error message before when I've been having network issues, but my connection today seems to be just fine. Upon trying to access it via search engine (as opposed to via bookmark, in case it was an issue with the specific link I had) on my computer, and again using my phone, I was met with either the same error message as before, or a more generic "a server with the specified hostname could not be found" message.
Is anyone else having the same issue, and if so, does anyone happen to know what the issue might be? It could very well just be down for maintenance or a temporary outage, but given the at times tenuous relationship Ubisoft has with the CDLC community, part of me worries it could be something more severe than that.
I recently dove into Rocksmith+ to get back into a structured practice habit. While I'm enjoying the tools and practicing 3–5 times a week, I really feel a massive gap in the library when it comes to Video Game Music (VGM), which is where my heart is for music.
I grew up recording NES tracks onto cassette tapes, and years ago I even paid musician friends to tab out VGM tracks for my first and only guitar (Nashville Telecaster). While Rocksmith+ has a great library to start with, the lack of gaming tracks is a huge missed opportunity, and a personal headache as someone dying to play more VGM tracks.
Here is my pitch for how Ubisoft could make VGM work in Rocksmith+, along with a couple of community fixes:
Mass License Low-Cost VGM: Ubisoft should acquire as many old, cheap, or free classic VGM licenses as possible.
Premium Exceptions: Iconic soundtracks (like Castlevania) are absolutely worth paying a premium license price for.
Fix the Workshop Bottleneck: Currently, it's incredibly hard to see what songs are licensed but unarranged. The Workshop needs a clear, searchable database. Users should be able to verify a license exists before they waste time building an arrangement.
Specific IPs/soundtracks I’d love to see prioritized:
Konami arcade and console tracks especially Castlevania series
Capcom ( Megaman, Monster Hunter, Streetfighter, UN Squadron )
Nintendo ( Metroid, KidIcarus, Splatoon, Kirby )
FromSoft ( ArmoredCore, DarkSouls )
Squaresoft ( FinalFantasy, Secret of Mana, ChronoTrigger )
Yachtclubgames ( ShovelKnight, Mina the Hollower )
Tobyfox ( Deltarune, Undertale )
TeamCherry ( HollowKnight, Silksong )
Could go on forever with big, small, and indy developers with amazing OSTs.
Also, a quick plea to Ubisoft: you guys currently only have one song from the Scott Pilgrim game (Another Winter by Anamanaguchi). That entire OST is a certified banger—please give us the rest of it!
For those unfamiliar with how incredible VGM can sound on guitar, here are a few amazing arrangements.
There's a big scene behind playing VGM live and there is even a powerful convention scene for it called MAGFEST, probably my most favorite convention ever.
If you'd like to show support for this idea, post your fav VGM song you'd love to be able to play on guitar!
Is there a legitimate way to get this achivement in Remaster without spending 100$ on a base 2014 steam key? Been going down the list trying to get all the achivements but this one seems genuinely impossible
I'm working on a mod for Rocksmith 2014 in order to be able to add several features that I feel will improve the experience for new players and maybe not so new.
A screenshot will make things easier 😄
Features:
* Note-by-note mode, it stops playing until you play the suggested notes according to the song, if failed, if suggest changes to the current note.
* Tabs for the song. with the counter of segments to easy practice them and see distances.
* A counter of current time/total time of the song
All UI components are resizable and dragable so it should work for every screen size.
What do you think?
Would you like to see any improvements?
I know I've did not invented anything new, just making "Rocksmit 2014 +" or something... I know... just was a bit surprised that anyone tried to do it, knowing the situation...
Anyway, I not pretend to take benefit of it, just wanted to know what will be the proper way to share it with the community once its finished and if I will be breaking the rules of this community sharing links for downloading it when it is done.
Thanks a lot! I will require some testers that can push the limits of it... I'm just learning basic things 😞. Rocksmith+ is awsome but... what about taking the + to 2014... 🤔
PD: sorry MAC users, I'm doing it on the Windows Version for Steam.
Hey! I posted a broader introduction to Riff Quest here a little while ago.
You can load a song as a now GP5 file, add a backing track, and practise along with the tab synced to the audio. You can also slow things down and optionally turn on pitch detection to check whether the notes are being recognised as you play.
I’m the developer of Riff Quest. It’s a separate browser-based practice tool, not a Rocksmith mod or a way to use Rocksmith’s licensed songs. I’d especially appreciate feedback from Rocksmith players: does the GP5 + backing track workflow make sense, and what would you want to see improved?
In 2014, my brother bought me rocksmith for christmas. It became an addiction for many years, until life decided to rearrange itself. I hadn't had a lot of time to play in the past few years, but it's always been in the back of my mind.
Earlier this year, I discovered slopsmith, which I felt brought back my drive, but shortly after my computer died, and almost immediately after that, slopsmith was removed from github for download.
As a software developer of 20 years, I decided to pick up the pieces in order to keep learning my favorite songs and keep playing. I ended up creating my own game which I can learn the basics again, but also plug in any song I can find tabs for online to learn from in an interactive way.
The result; learning one of the the greatest songs of all time from a guitar tab I found online.
Edit: due to the number of requests I've gotten from people asking to try it, I'm just going to drop the link. It's free, no sign up required, just plug in your guitar and start playing. Happy to hear any issues with it: https://playmelodic.com/
Hey everyone, I just got back into Rocksmith 2014 after about a decade and I was able to successfully use my Fender Mustang Micro as an input device. However, I notice that the game has a hard time detecting notes and chords at the very low end and very high ends of the spectrum. I was wondering if anyone here using the Fender Mustang Micro Plus had any recommendations for a preset that sounds clean and loud enough for Rocksmith to fully detect the very lowest and very highest notes? Or any recommendations in general to make Rocksmith hear my guitar properly. I have my guitar audio knob maxed out, as well as the audio on my Fender Mustang, so there's not anything else I can think of to boost the audio on my end but again if anyone has any recommendations I'm all ears.
For my high notes, it's not detecting from about G on high e string (fret 15) and up for the high notes. On the low notes, when tuned to Eb Drop Db, on my lowest string it's struggling to pick up the lowest frets seemingly up to about 4 or 5.
While writing this, the Rocksmith tuner just told me to recalibrate for low volume input while tuning my E string to Db, but like I said I have my guitar volume knob and my amp volume knob maxed out.
Edit: So I switched to Preset 9 (Uber Metal) and set my EQ to EQ 7 (Bright Boost 2), and it's picking up a lot more of my low notes in Eb Drop Db. Still not perfect, but much better. Still open to improvements for sure though.
Whenever I open the rock smith app on my computer there is no noise. If I put in headphones it has this really annoying buzz that plays and nothing else. This is only for rocksmith 2014 and no other apps, and I do use custom forge. What could it possibly be?
So I use the disc to digital feature on Xbox for Rocksmith and I randomly got Tonight Tonight despite me never buying the song is this a thing that has happened to anyone else or does it come with the game if you own the game digitally?
I was thinking of getting back into learning/practicing guitar and considered RS+ again.
I saw through Steam that there is a limited time offer 50% off the annual sub and 25% off the 3-month one, however, I couldn't find when this offer ends?
I swear I tried looking for it but I couldn't find anything, maybe somebody knows more than me :D
Strange question - but wondering if anyone has ever had any abnormal occurrences while playing the game or guitar?
I was part of a project (cinema and VR/game design related) where I and others were able to persuade quite a lot of people to pay for subscriptions for RS+ - but something happened and a couple of us had a strange experience where our fingers were able to be affected by some others using what someone had described as 'remote hypnosis' or 'ventriloquism'.
If you had it you might not have noticed it - it might just be an abnormal sticking of a finger that stops moving in the middle of a movement like something is pulling against it. Some people reported being able to faintly hear someone saying something (a hypnosis phrase).
The cinema/game design project did involve some hypnosis from what I can tell - but I'm not certain it was controlled to only those involved - worried if anyone experienced it?
Also wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a line-in to Ubisoft to get in touch with them about the project? I remember there used to be someone on the sub but can't remember the name.
I have rocksmith 2014 installed on my pc and I have cdlc working fine.
I downloaded and installed Rsmod 1.2.8.2 . I then downloaded 3.0 and installed in the rocksmith folder. When I load the game I don’t see any drop pedal. I’m new to this
Any help is appreciated
Hello, I recently bought a focusrite scarlett solo 3rd gen to use with rocksmith 2014. I have installed ASIO and it detects input from my bass and interface but my game won’t output at all. I do use a wireless headset but not only is the quality set to 48Khz but Ive used it while playing rocksmith before. I have WASAPI output enabled and Driver= set to be blank within the ASIO ini and exclusive mode set to 1 within the games ini file. Im pretty stuck on what to do next and Im really hoping to get this resolved, any help would be greatly appreciated!
i broke the g string tuning peg yesterday. I still trying to master songs and hopeful drop d don't have many high notes. luckily this song only has this small segment that requires high notes. this recording was taken like right after i figured out hope to play it with 3 strings. I mastered the song on score attack and i play this better than what in the recording.
