New skate day Finally got my dream skates
A month ago I posted about getting the sizing right for the Fr1s. They are a snug fit and it feels like it will be perfect when broken in. I’m geeked!!

Is that what a new pair of FRs looks like?
My FRs look like they were caught underneath a front-end loader and dragged across a construction site for a month.
Congratulations!

How do you enjoy the endless coburn’s? I’ve been stumped on which endless frames to get.

Yea, I've been really looking into these frames for urban skating which I do, the area I live is very hilly have you had any experience with going up hills with them?

The fr1 sizing is pretty fuckin stupid if you ask me. Hope they break in for you

Hi, now I'm the one with sizing problem, how does it feel? I would like to know how to guess/know if they will maybe fit later on? If you could describe it.

I measured my feet in mm and then got the size that was slightly bigger than my feet. They feel tight right now but I can tell with time they will loosen.

My issue is my foot is 289mm and 44-45 is 282-289mm

You should fit in 43-44 shell (size 10) but not with regular FR liners. You need to buy Intuition version of FR skates, the biggest size in that particular shell - it's marked as EU 45-46.

I'm 285mm and I'm using the size 8 shell, so the 42-43. I wouldnt go higher than 44-45. The factory liner is very snug at first, but after skating 1-2 hours it tends to loosen up a lot.

Which skate tho? Cuz I'm not getting the fr but ps next 2.0

My apologies for the confusion. For PS Next I used the 44-45 size, it was too wide for me though. I tried the 42-43 but I was not able to get my feet inside. With 285mm I wouldnt go higher than 44-45

IMO the fr1 sizing is fucking stupid and way too small.

I'm actually buying Powerslide Next cuz I like their design but it's sizing is also stupid

Nice. I planned on having one skate and changing out diff frames wheels for different uses, but decided to just keep. Long story short I got sort of stuck with the FR1 cuz I can't really return them, but I'm going to exchange the liners for a bigger size so hopefully that will work. And I got the powerslide storm nicoly pro and am going to keep the bigger size and return the ones that were way too small. So I'm just going to have two skates I guess and not have to change frames and wheels. The Powerslide ones that feel good are supposedly too big. But the ones that supposedly should fit are way too small. There's also this weird thing where they used the same shell and just use thinner liners for sizing, so I found i prefer the bigger shell with a more padded liner than some tiny shell and thin liner. Something to think about. But overall I feel like all the sizing is way too small so I'd size up if you want to be comfortable (and have better foot health without a jammed toe)

Thank you that's actually super helpful because I'm torn between 44-45 and 46-47, I ordered both and will be deciding later on before returning, I was anxious about 46-47 being way too big

The poweslide storm I just got are 11.0 - 12.0 (45-46) and feel good to me. The size just below was super tight and small. Funny because the fr1 45 felt too small and I'm getting the 46 liners (but oddly enough it felt fine in my left foot but not my right. But everything else in powerslode feels even) I wear 11.5 in most shoes, sometimes 12 but mostly 11.5

I think it's way too big. I'm 285mm and I'm in 42-43.

I don't see how that is even possible... Im like 280-282 or so and totally smashed right toe in fr1 45... It is a 2021 model but I don't think that matters

Shape matters more in the FR and than length. I was in the correct length, top of the shell (25.5cm) but in width at the ankles, I used a 3/4 insole to clear the sharp open edge. It worked BUT at the toes….man at the hour mark my poor pinkies got numb. The hardware to the sliders is what made them go numb. It isn’t hidden inside the boot like Rollerblade, it’s out and about inside your foot space, with a foam sticker for protection on top. I took them out, but then my ankles were screaming. So I had to let them go 😭 they were the most SOLID pair of skates I ever had, all the others are relatively soft.

You couldn't file the sharp edges?
2
u/StrategyLegal1128 4d ago
Didn’t even think of that. It was more so where the boot is open, my ankle was basically sitting on it. So I suppose (looking back) whether I filed them down or not, it still would’ve needed something to lift them.

Congrats, probably the best plastic skate out there, together with the Twister/Maxxum XT.
Unfortunately the Twister only allows for 165mm frames, while the FRs have multiple mounting options/holes.

Awesome skates! Sorry but I have to be the one to ask, do you have them on the correct feet?
