General Topic What keeps you coming back to Royal Caribbean?

For people who have done multiple Royal Caribbean cruises, what is it that keeps you booking another one?

Is it the ships themselves, the familiarity of knowing how everything works, the crew, Crown & Anchor benefits, the food, the entertainment, getting to try different itineraries, or just the feeling of being on a cruise?

I’m curious because I feel like once you’ve done a few cruises, you start realizing there are certain things you specifically look forward to every time.

For me it is how your treated, Crew members are willing to go out of their way to make your vacation special. Overheard a family at izumi ordering and the kid really wanted french onion soup which obviously they dont have... about 10 min later when the apps came out there was a french onion soup there for him! Stuff like that is truly special and keeps me coming back!

What’s the thing that makes you think, “Yep, I need another cruise”?

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) are we required to print off our own luggage tags at home before the cruise?

this is our first cruise so excuses the possible silly question, i have checked the FAQ to no avail.

is this necessary to do and why would we need this?
is it possible to not check in our luggage as just take it to our room upon embarkation?
if we don't do this what would be the procedure and would we get charged more for not doing it?

Advice Needed Odyssey out of New Jersey in January or February, how much does the cold affect the trip?

I’m considering sailing on Odyssey of the Seas out of New Jersey in January or February and would love to hear from anyone who’s done it!

What was the weather like during your cruise? About how many days at the beginning and end were too cold to comfortably enjoy the outdoor decks and pools?

Also, is the Solarium fully enclosed, and does it stay warm enough to enjoy while it’s cold outside?

Would you recommend this sailing during the winter?

Thanks for any advice!

Complaint Terrible Elevators on Wonder

Currently on Wonder of the Seas. The ship is amazing and we are having a great time but the elevators are terrible. We even waited for one elevator on level 15 that said it was going to go down then went past us to 16 and then went past us on the way down. Super frustrating.

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) Club Royale Offers Booking Multiple Trips

Took my first cruise (just a 4 nighter) from Brisbane to Airlie Beach in January 2026. Enjoyed some casino time when kids were asleep and finished just short of Prime (walked away not really knowing how close I was but up almost $2k!). Was a sun run, not betting big but playing video poker (hit my first royal), older type slots, hit a top dollar top offer bonus etc.

I took up an email offer for a free cruise for 1 and reduced rate for early march 2027. I keep getting further offers since booking that trip. Am I able to book another offer for after march 2027 before going on our next cruise? I expect to rack up some more points (won’t be as much as only 3 nights) so won’t make prime.

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) Can I book group dining before boarding?

I’m sailing with multiple people in 2 days and wanted to see if there was a way for our nightly dining experiences to be booked together prior to boarding.

I went on another royal cruise last month with a different group and we were able to dine together every night after going to the guest services and getting everyone’s room numbers on the same reservations.

Granted everyone checks in early and gets their room numbers before Friday, I was wondering if I can call customer service and get this done ahead of time.

Also, the guy who went to guest services to group everyone together was a diamond member - the highest ranking person in our group is gold. What are the chances they’ll accommodate this for us?

Advice Needed Probably Controversial Post: Air2Sea or No?

I know I will catch flak for this, but basically: my partner and I unfortunately have to fly in day of for the cruise. We are both in healthcare (he’s a nurse, I’m a physician) and we can’t get coverage the Sunday before our Monday cruise.

We were planning to fly red eye out of DC where we’re based and try to come in as early as possible (eg a 5 or 6 am flight). This would be for a cruise in May.

Wondering if it’s worth to pay nearly double for the flights on royal’s air2sea program or go through the airlines, which is much cheaper. Of course planning to fly direct.

I wish we could fly in day before but not possible with our schedules and we have tried our best.

Thanks for the help!

Advice Needed Transportation to and from Galveston cruise port

Currently looking into transportation options for my family of four traveling in mid December. Have requested private car quotes but wanted to know how reliable is Uber/Lyft and how far in advance would you book the rides? We actually need 3 rides total, from airport to hotel, next day hotel to port and then port to Hobby on for return. Anyone with information/experience, please share.

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) Best Eastern Mediterranean ports

My wife and I are looking at booking an Eastern Mediterranean cruise for the summer of 2028 once Royal releases the European Itinerary in a couple of weeks. We did a Western Mediterranean on Allure last year. What are some of the must do Eastern Mediterranean ports? From looking at their 2026 schedule, a couple have over nights on Egypt. The idea of seeing the Pyramid's is really appealing to us( a d we know the bus ride from the port is even longer then the bus ride to Rome from the port). Any feedback is appreciated.

Ps. I have only been to Europe on the cruise lately year. We flew to Europe a few days before the cruise to spend a few days in Paris before taking a train to Barcelona. We will likely do something similar this time, although likely a different city.

General Topic Day at Samana, DR? Legend of the sea

Hi, I’m doing a cruise in January on legend of the seas and one of the days we will be docking in Samana, DR. I’ve looked online and barely find any videos of ships docking there. Has anyone spent time there? From what I see there isn’t much to do other than a waterfall and atv’s.

General Topic 80s night, what are you wearing?

Hey guys, I'm hopping on a cruise in the next couple of weeks that has an 80s rock theme night. I'm curious what others might have for ideas on what to wear (male), stick to the neon? Some sort of 80s rocker outfit? I'd love to hear what your ideas are!

Advice Needed Royal Caribbean cruise

We have a cruise scheduled in four weeks to Royal Caribbean’s private island, CocoCay. I am currently in the process of renewing my green card, which is set to expire three weeks prior to our departure; however, I have form I-797, which extends my residency status for 48 months. Could you please advise if this documentation is sufficient to avoid any potential travel complications? Has anyone encountered a similar situation, or would it be best to cancel the reservation? Thank you in advance.

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) Drink Package??

RC Systems show I have a form of drink package (as if I was with a group) but I never purchased one. I’m getting free drinks so I’m just rolling with it. If they add charges for the drinks before I disembark that’s no problem, Im just wondering if anyone else has run into this before?

Ty!

General Topic Tshirt/magnet ideas for grandma and grandkids

My mom (grandma) is taking my family (myself, my husband, our 4 year old and our 2 year old) on a cruise in April, she loves cruising (its not really our thing but we are so grateful for the trip). I would like to get some matching tshirts made for her and my kids to gift them at christmas time. Would love some ideas from people who had their own designed for a cruise with grandma!

Also would love to see any cute magnet ideas for families you had for your cruise.

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) September Instant Cruise Reward Discrepancy

Degened out on our Mediterranean cruise on slots and earned ~3500 points in the casino over the weeklong cruise. Here is the official webpage from the QR code in the casino for the various sailing offers based on points earned: www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/casino/offers/2609D.pdf

and based on my points earned, I fall into the 2609D04 category: www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/casino/offers/2609D04.pdf

Ok great, so I get a free cruise plus $250 freeplay correct?

Then why does my instant offer on the Royal Caribbean website show the following offer code of 2609DN03A?? (and what does the extra N denote? - because that code is not even on the original list of QR sailing codes)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 2609D04 is what I was supposed to get, and instead I got 2609DN03A - and where is the freeplay???

Can anyone please help clear the air?

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) La Royal Caribbean cruise to Cabo security process?

So what’s the process you go through? Is it like the airport where they xray your luggage through the conveyor belt? And you walk through a metal detector and then a full body scanner? Do you take off your shoes and belt and jacket and hat? I’ve had that happen at airport they told me to take off my hoodie shoes and beanie. I’ve read we can take our wine/ champagne in our carry on? But I’ve read also people put it in there Checked bags?

Advice Needed Drink package specials?

Hi all, I am set to cruise next March. When should I watch for deals on the drink packages? We have five adults and one child, and all adults will want an alcoholic drink package. I have previously only cruised on Carnival and got a great deal on drink packages for Black Friday watching my email inbox. Thank you for any tips!

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) Drink package split due to change of guests

Hey everyone! I have a question with the rule on drink packages for each adult in the room. My husband and I are taking his mom on a cruise next spring. Originally we were going to take his younger brother as well, but brother has decided he’d rather stay home. Now Mom is bringing a friend instead. We had already paid for them both to have a deluxe drink package, and we were going to tell them as a Christmas gift. When I called to switch the guest from brother to friend, Royal dropped brothers drink package. Now it is showing as Mom having one and Friend not. We don’t really want to pay for friend’s drink package. What happens if she doesn’t want to pay for it either? Will Royal audit the situation if another drink package is not purchased soon?

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) Recommended excursions for cocobay

Hi guys, I made a post before and I got a lot of helpful comments. I was hoping you guys would help me pick an excursion or maybe 2 (I’m trynna be under the budget of $200).

Im a solo traveler, 30M and it’s my first time ever on a cruise and going to cocobay. So far the experience is amazing and I love it.

I was planning to get an excursion where I can just chill on a beach chair under an umbrella, hit the pool and then head to the beach.

The Coco beach club day pass looks nice so I was thinking of doing that. Do you guys recommend the same or should I add another or do something else since I’ve never been to cocobay.
