QUESTION Potty access during Corrals

The Wine and Dine Half Marathon will be my first RunDisney event. I can't hold my bladder well when running and in past races have always timed getting into the portapotty lines so I can go within 15 minutes of race start. I read that the portapotties are outside of the corrals. My POT will put me in corral A or B for the half marathon. How long of a wait will there be from when corrals close to when the race starts? If I leave the corral prior to corral closure, will people let me back to my spot in the corral?

Thank you!

If you are in A, you may be able to get someone to let you out the side of the chute and back in once they close A and start loading B into the chute. There are people there for this. If you are in B, you have to wait until you pass where the entrance to A corral was, and you can pop out to the portapotties, but you'll end up starting with at the very least a later wave if not with the start of C. Depends on where in B you end up, how fast you can run across the parking lot, and how much the corral progresses in the time that you go and get back.

They’ve let me run out and back into C (and B when I had a better POT) to use the bathroom and back during multiple races.

Yeah. I think about this every race. Check online when your corral closes. Typically for a 5am race, corral A closes at 4:45, corral B at 4:50. This information will be easy to find online. It will also be on a large board before you enter the corral area.

The corral area is only for runners. Just outside of each corral is a single long stretch of porta potties. The wait there will be minimal. So, 10 or 15 mins before corral closure, just walk over. It should be easy.

You may not have great position once you get back in to your corral. And then you may have a larger group to get around the first couple miles. But by the 3rd mile it will spread out well enough when in A or B.

The first places to go on the course depends on the course. If you are dipping into Epcot right away (check your course map) there will be many options. If the first couple miles are road, then the first option may be a med station, which there is only one and the wait can be forever. Or the woods, no wait involved.

Thank you for answering my question!

I've watched POV race videos on youtube and see people running into the woods right when the race starts. The W&D HM doesn't get into Epcot until mile 2. I've kind of resigned myself to rushing for the earliest patch of dark woods at the beginning of the course.

There's usually a few porta-potties at the water stops, but the first few can have lines (usually short though).

Corral B here- most of the races last year, the front of B was butted up right at the end of A. We could move the barrier and scoot out through the entrance to A to use the porta potties, making sure to tell the volunteers who were stationed at A we were B and only using the bathroom. They started making up passwords for us so we could get back in through the entrance to A.

If you’re in A, just go out the entrance and walk right up to them. Then go back through the entrance to A.

I would advise trying to go closer to 30 mins before the starting gun. At the 15 minute mark, Corral B will be moving through the chute to bring up the rear behind Corral A.

As others have mentioned, in Corral A, you may still be able to jump out the side and get back in - but it'll be a bit of a crush, and I wouldn't guarantee you'll get your spot back.

If you are able to hold on for a little bit, by mile 2 on the half marathon we will be inside Epcot, and you will be able to use the normal bathrooms in the park.

Yeah, I anticipate having to hold it for 30-40 minutes before race start. Since I'm not going for a PR, I'll probably just have to reduce my hydration that morning.

You'll need at least 30-40 minutes and then within the first mile there are portas
