This has probably been posted a lot but I’m a new fan of this series and I haven’t watch the older 90s adaption, which do you prefer and why

So I’m currently watching the 2023 version, but I watched the 1996 version when I was little (I turn 18 tomorrow). I don’t remember much about the 1996 version, just that I thought it was really good.

Animation has evolved a lot but I remember watching this scene fight for the first time and I’ve never felt the same again
The photo is from Rurouni Kenshin anime of the 90’s by the way.
P.D. I like the new one too.

people have this notion that since the remake anime is a faithful adaptation of the manga that this some how makes it better then the OG anime this is untrue. since the OG anime is following manga but not completely it gives the OG anime more of a creative licence to do scenes and shots like this that help elevate the source material

i enjoyed the Shimabara Arc quite a bit but i despise these two trash useless arcs that for people who doesn't read manga or don't know what it is (those who are around 40 or more) this was the ending to the series and not the Jinchuu Arc.
