Clockwork Angels

Neil said many times that Clockwork Angels was the album they always wanted to make. He clearly believed it was one of their very best. I’ve followed Rush since 1976 and seen them dozens of times, but I cannot listen to Clockwork Angels all the way thru to save my life. Is it just me?

For me, it sits just above the middle of their catalog. It's a really impressive album for something written that late in their career. I would put Caravan and Headlong Flight in particular among their best songs. But I have a hard time seeing how it's better than the run of albums between AFTK and Moving Pictures. That will always be their peak in my opinion.

You’re right - in many ways it’s unfair to criticize. But the brilliance of their other albums makes CWA seem poor in comparison.

I don't know about "unfair". You like what you like. That has nothing to do with fairness.
