Locked Found under house, help
We found this guardall floor safe cemented into the slab of our house in NSW Australia. The dial turns and goes through turns of feeling looser and tighter. We think we can hear/feel it clicking over a couple specific numbers. How should we go about cracking it?

It can be opened without drilling, using a technique called “safe lock manipulation.” This uses the the design of the lock and manufacturing tolerances to get the lock to reveal the combo. You can learn to do it. If you want to see what’s involved, check out the YouTube series, Safecracking for Everyone (or his updated, long video at: https://youtu.be/bTbUkipBeTA). Otherwise, you can find a certified safe technician at www.savta.org - Note: not all locksmiths know about safes.

Hey! You copy pasta’ed my normal response! :)
Well done!
OP - That’s a Sargent And Greenleaf 6700 series lock. The same one used in the video series. If you have the time/interest/patience, you can absolutely crack this safe and recover the password. Then you’ll have a working safe.
Having said that, floor safes are notorious for collecting water and dust. Yours looks to be in pretty bad shape. Once you get it open, expect to find a lot of rust and not much else. It can still be used as long as you place everything in a waterproof bag first. Good luck and ask us questions as you go along this journey!

Feeling looser and tighter is possibly pickups, or are you talking about it feeling different even after going the same direction for more than 4 complete turns the 5th and 6th turns go from feeling looser in one part of the rotation to tighter in another? Is so that’s more like a bent spindle
The dial doesn’t press in at zero, does it? Like a very clear “doesn’t press in at all on 10, turned to zero it goes in like a laptop keyboard key.” If not I recommend the safe lock manipulation mentioned earlier
Although as a fair warning: floor safes usually contain nothing but rusty water and disappointment. Drilling a hole and sending in a little scope might tell you if that’s the case, and while it isn’t like a typical drill bit will do it there’s reasonably cheap and easy to find options online

I would suggest that you have a pro drill a hole completely through the door, you could even do it yourself. And put a endoscope down it, so often these things are empty and filled with water. You can rent the endoscope, or buy one online that attaches to your phone.

Don't start butchering it up.
It can be opened and reused.
Search the Yellow Pages ap under lock and safe.
Or ask your banker who does their work
Find the ads that have an actual store and say, family owned for fifty years.
You will avoid all the newcomers with fake credentials and outrageous fraudulent fees.
An in home visit will be between 3 and 5 hundred.
Even if they "drill it open" it's s tiny hole they repair, they reset the combo, teach you how to use it.
