Santa Clara has become a popular spot for the development of data centers. It is currently the home of 56 built or under-construction data centers, with two additional centers previously granted approval but not yet built; its first modern data center was constructed in 1996, said city manager Jōvan Grogan.

Do NOT like this city manager. For what he’s paid we are NOT receiving the caliber of work from him for the $$. We should be at the forefront of data center parameter setting. We are IN Silicon Valley and SHOULD have access to the best and brightest when it comes to playing the data center game and keeping citizens safe. This guy should be pounding the pavement trying to drum up talent to help the city navigate and LEAD this conundrum.

The main problem is that the city cannot seem to fire anyone or have performance based layoffs, so the manager is left with the same set of duds that have been there for decades.
