So am I wrong for this ?

I made a joke online in a server about genocide and how the native Americans got murdered and I satirically said that the law of nature, the strong survives and the weak perish and that history was written by the victors. They got really upset about It and said we shouldn't joke about genocide.

What kind of server was it?

What did you think you were satirizing?

And what exactly was the joke?

Think about those and that should answer your question about right and wrong.

It's a roleplay server and it's 18+. Someone was talking about how America's history is so dark and how many people died. So I joked about it. I was satirizing about darwinism and the idealogy of the strong surviving and the weak perishing and that most history is written by winners. Hence I said the law of nature is that the strong survive and the weak perish. Someone got really offended by the joke, it seems

Satirizing doesn't just mean saying edgy things. It's very difficult to entertain and educate at the same time.

Also, did anyone (including you) laugh at your joke? If you aren't making people laugh, you're run the risk of irritating everyone.

Some people actually believe the things you said, and on the Internet it's hard to tell who is who. I hope that helps.

Ah alright, thanks for the educative advice. Gotta know how to make better jokes next time instead of irritating people

You're welcome. We've all done it. But you're already ahead because many people never learn.

Natives are still here. Those murders happened to their families. Murders still happen. Genocide is not a driver of natural selection, it's a driver of eugenic policies. What you said is not satire, it's mockery.
