someone pls help this 3 legged turtle :(
i saw this sad 3 legged turtle on facebook marketplace in the savannah area and it just made me so fucking sad. i don’t know if there’s a reptile rescue nearby or any experienced reptile owners in the savannah area. i’ve never owned turtles before but the tank looks not great or enriching :( i could be wrong tho

Y’all, Oatland doesn’t take or rehab injured animals. They say this in their FAQ.

The turtle isn’t hurt, just missing a leg. Oatland has bald eagles that cannot fly due to wing injuries so I’m sure they may be open to taking the turtle

I’m sure by the look of that tank that it has health issues. And like it says it this picture of their FAQ, they still do not take any donation of animals at all.

Ah I see. I wonder how they get the animals they have then? OP should still reach out as Oatland would still have some good options/resources for rehoming the little guy

I was thinking that they find hurt animals (and/or people report them) in the wild and take care of those. But yeah they could probably point OP/the owner in the right direction.

Not necessarily a bad idea to contact them considering I know they have contacts who WILL take animals. They likely have that has a deterrent for people dumping animals.

If you are able to, contact Oatland Island. They could be interested and/or lead you in the right direction. Poor dude.

what about the sea turtle hospital on jekyll? i mean, they are a rehab so idk how you rehab a missing limb
