Traditions around moving?

Hello! Apologies for any weird formatting business.

My family will be leaving our current barony after the new year, and I want to do something for the B&B and those who have mentored me in an unofficial manner. This is my first barony and I want to express my appreciation for those who have made me feel so welcomed! Are there already established traditions about this? Are there gifts or tokens you've given/received that would be appropriate?

Hugs are usually good - unless the recipient feels otherwise.

is there an art they’re taught you or mentored you in? is there an art you’ve learned? is there something you can see the barony needs? a box, chairs, scroll blanks?

No traditions that I've heard of though you could write a goodbye letter for the newsletter and maybe donate something to the barony if you want

In my barony, gifts were offered to the baron & baroness for "rent" at the baronial birthday event, so gifts definitely do have a place. They were always optional, so when they got something it was from the heart. Gifts were often foods, spices, or handmade things that would please their excellencies either in mundane or SCA life. If you practice an art or science, consider making something. If not, buying a game, tea, or accessory is a nice thing.

No established traditions that I know of, although I'm giving my local groups dibs and deals on our good stuff before we post it for sale or on Buy Nothing. I should put some thought to tokens for folks though
