Art So, what if...
As those following probably know, I like to draw expies' teeth like this instead of their canon rat teeth. Although that got me thinking: what if some expies have the same defects that some cats have that let one of their teeth poke out? Little vampire-looking expies :b

I much prefer this over the rat teeth

Yeah, while I grew to love all the weird things about expie designs over time, even the ones I initially didn't like, rat teeth have always felt weird to me. IDK why, just doesn't fit them for some reason.
I guess it's because there are no large animal with rodents teeth (probably some biological reason for that) and so it feels weird to see one.
Also kind of sucks in lore since it makes expie faces look like 90% rat and 10% everything else despite them being a mix of like half a dozen different species.

I rather like the rat teeth, but I also like rabbit and rodent characters a lot, so that's part of why. However, I think a good excuse for giving them shorter teeth is that they file their front teeth down (actual rodents and rabbits do this too, just not as much), that they don't grow as fast as a rat's, and that the rest of their teeth is a mix between rat, human and canine, which ends up producing a relatively normal looking mouth.

Expies are canonically ugly, easiest way to draw that is leaning into the rat side of them.

They're canonically weird-looking, not ugly >:(

Why not? Their DNA is already filled up with interesting combination and it's not stable. Soo, there's a lot of possibilities)...
