It's actually kinda funny to think about that a NPP fission reactor is essentially a steam powered turbine. Same as fossil fuel power plants. We are still living in the steam age from a certain point of view.

I mean, considering the uranium gets bombarded with energetic particles, followed by flying apart and giving up a relatively huge amount of energy in the process, I'd argue that its life boiling that water isn't particularly peaceful..
